He looks like he's waiting for you to fall asleep so he can sit on your face.... wouldn't trust him at all. Keep one eye open tonight ! Cat just doesn't appreciate how adorable he looks ! :)

Nah, she likes dressing up! I took it off her after a while, just in case she got tired of it, and she lay down beside it and licked it :)

I woke up at 5.30am Friday morning to feed the baby and couldn't go back to sleep. Ended up on amazon and had a small fortune spent by 7 :o Got a lovely pair of rocket dog fleece boots and a fab watch and bracelet set. Oh and I got a guinness book of records for less than a tenner too :)

Glitz girl how many lengths of the tinsel did you need for around the double doors? I was thinking of getting a garland to go around mine but that tinsel is fab and it's a lot cheaper :D

I actually bought garlands and returned them then unopened as the one in Musgraves was much cheaper. Two is loads for a double door. So much so that I was able to cut it and use the rest for over a single wall press cabinet too.

I bought a few soft decorations for the bottom of the tree to try to encourage the kids from taking my good ones off. All sounds like a good idea right? Yes, the kids have been great and left all decorations alone including the soft ones.

However, the cat has spent the morning violently attacking said decorations, it's like having a kitten again. Every time I rehang them he's in there to take them down. On the plus side, the kids think it's hilarious, which it sort of is ðŸ˜႒

My post in the christmas tree thread reminds me of something I saw in Homestore + More this weekend. These outdoor lights looked interesting, on a timer you say, battery operated? But, wait what's this on the back?
Do not operate your light in wet [...] conditions.
    Have they met Ireland?

Feeling unbelievably worried at the moment. One of my 4 legged babies , my boxer Loki is almost 6 years old and has been a bit off form the last few days. But today now she is completely not herself and I'm dreading bringing her to the vets later. It would be horrible to see anything happen to her just before Christmas :(
We're realists we know boxers have a host of hereditiy problems and she has done extremely well to get to the age she is at without any big problems yet, but unfortunately it's not looking very good for her. :( fingers crossed everyone she will be ok :( !

Hopefully it's nothing serious, Glitzgirl. Fingers crossed.

Thinking of you glitzgirl. I hope it's nothing serious. It could be as simple as managing to eat something she shouldn't have. Try not think the worst just yet.

Thanks whispered. We had her at the vets about a year ago too she had several lumps (boxers are prone to cancer and tumours ) but we were told they wouldn't pose a threat to her health they were benign. Her whole demeanour has changed drastically over night so im afraid I dont have a very positive outlook at moment for her. :( praying I'm wrong though !!

    How is she eating/drinking/toileting?

If it's any consolation about August last year one of my boys went downhill very fast. We rushed him to the vet and were told all they can do is support his system and hope for the best. I remember sobbing at the vet "but I'm 5 months pregnant. He has to get better or the baby will never meet him". We truly expected the worst as he could barely lift his head. Thankfully after a (very expensive) week in the vet he began to improve and is now fine. They are remarkable animals and very robust. Sometimes all hope seems gone and they surprise us.

Please let us know how you get on at the vet.

Awh whispered I'm delighted he was ok in the end and was able to meet your little babs! :)

Not eating at all today and has been excessively thirsty last 2 days. She is the most placid thing ever (I often joke about how if we were broken in to the boxer would go greet them warmly and the terrier would be the one going mad at them !) But today when the post man came she threw herself against the door and went bananas. I have never seen her act like that at all so she is clearly upset or in pain. She also started having fits at the weekend. Our first boxer took the same way when he was barely one with a heart condition and had to be put down was heart breaking, but we knew boxers could develop fits later in life. But she has had more than I am comfortable with already :( it would be worth paying if we have her home safe and healthy for Christmas :)

I hope you're OK and that your dog will be with you for Christmas.
I know it's a different breed but my friend's Dalmation was displaying similar symptoms last year. He's older and started fitting and being ill. With a short vet stay and treatment he was well again and is still going strong.

Sending Christmas wishes of health to him, hope he's feeling better soon!

Thanks mud. I have her sitting in front of the fire here in her bed til we go to the vets later and she is loving the attention. Even when she is sick she is so sweet. Poor dog is surrounded by small dogs and thinks she should be able to sit on lap too god love her :)

Thanks for all your support x

OK this may not seem as miracley as the last one but I'm in a really good mood and am trying to be grateful for everything.

My car started hesitating and losing oomph when I was around 32 miles into a 40ish mile journey. I had been on a motorway, then main road and had just turned on to a secondary road when the car really started to fail and horror of horrors the engine light was also flashing. Pulled in, checked oil, water and spark plugs and thankfully all were OK. (That's pretty much the extent of my engine know-how :P )

Didn't freak, rang Dad (default answer to all things) let the car sit for 20 mins then slowly and gingerly got us home. Dad didn't have to rescue me after all and the car is in the yard now until I can get it to the mechanic.

Just so delighted that I'm OK, other road users are OK and that the worst didn't happen while on the stormy motorway. Yeah my car seems a bit borked but it was due a service anyway and I don't need it for the rest of the week. Great excuse to do some cleaning at home!

    Christmas vibes :)

Well that's definitely putting a good spin on something bad! What a great attitude to have!

Elves, I have discovered that I have underspent on my husband's Christmas beer by €25. That, or I've lost some beer somewhere in the house. How the hell did that happen?

Or your husband found some of the stash and tucked in early :pac:

Well he knew it was there! Nah, he has a decent stock of beer in the house for himself without having to sneak some. Lucky man.

I really want to post photos of my tree but my house is such a kip at the moment. I need to tidy up first!
