Pensioner Pleads with Loyalists To See Dying his Wife

I don't care what side of all this you fall on, this is just disgusting.

A pensioner pleads with Loyalist "protesters" to be allowed past the road they were blocking in order to visit his dying wife in hospital. On top of not allowing him through they then cheer and jeer him towards the end.

As far as I know, the flag and the audio are unrelated.

It's pretty stupid having that caption if the audio is real, it's not something to take the piss out of if genuine.

I was going through Newbuildings this evening when they were getting ready to block the road. Pure ignorant scum the lot of them, I shouted to one guy and asked him what the **** he was at. He shouted back to get at me to get the **** away or he would 'burn me out of it'.

The best bit of it? His granny and my great-granny were sisters, she was born about twenty feet from where I'm sitting now.

    W@nkers the lot of them.

Na, they're not worth so much as a scratch on the paintwork, it must be while maddening for most of the decent folk on the unionist side too, they don't want any of that auld sh1te either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,109 ✭✭✭Cavehill Red

I've said it before and it needs saying again now. All of this sh1te and anything similar will stop forever tomorrow morning if the government were to announce that anyone arrested and prosecuted for rioting in Northern Ireland would be permanently barred from receiving benefits or being employed by the state.

As much noise as these lunatics are making, I think its clear to all, the numbers on the streets don't represent the unionist community.

You wouldnt even need to add the employed by the state bit.

Heard that earlier on facebook. Their lot are saying that everyone knew where the road blocks would be so there's no excuse for saying you couldn't get past. I broke one of their road blocks a few nights ago in Derry. The police pulled me over 200m down the road and I said I kept moving to avoid being hijacked. If I wasn't afraid of getting into trouble myself I would ask why the road wasn't cleared by them.

People are sick and tired of inaction from the authorities. Every change that happens will face this response from the have-beens for the next few decades... just imagine their reaction when there is a major political change.
Violence will prolong the issue and encourage reprisals but the police need to step up and say their will be no prosecutions for anyone ignoring the illegal roadblocks.

You'd be surprised. 70% of the North's economy is state-fuelled. There's undoubtedly state employees among the troglodytes.

And then they'd be 24/7 criminals instead of weekend/marching season twats.

they represent a whole lot more than you would think

To even quote that is giving them credence. There really is no Ulster unionist-Scots presbyterian demograph, just a bunch of bigots who cling onto any excuse to act out on their bigotry. Ulster is in Ireland, its Irish and part of the UK at the same time. Presbyterianism is a branch of protestantism, which is a German fabrication, and which is also under the umbrella of Christianity, love thy neighbour and all that. I know dozens of Scottish people, some Catholic, some presbyterian, some athiest, not one of whom acts like that. And the thing I always find most ironic, these people are genetically Gaelic, just like Gerry Adams, Micheal Collins, Ronan O'Gara, Colin McRae, Andy Murray and Lorraine Kelly! Even the surnames give you a clue! These people only represent themselves, they are just scum.

The little diagonal red stripes, should be at bottom of white stripe next to flag pole, if its red stripe at top of white stripe by the flagpole its upside down.

"Wrong way. Look at the Union Jack picture on the right of this step. Still looking at the top left corner, you will notice that the thicker part of the white stripe is now on the bottom of the red cross. This is incorrect."

They should take it up with their representatives in the DUP and UUP then. Both the DUP and UUP were involved in the leaflet drop that poked at the paranoia and disenfranchisement of these droolers.

It's nothing new that mainstream Unionist parties use the working class Loyalist community to do their dirty work while simultaneously claiming to be all about democracy and the rule of law.

Unionists could display their disgust at the DUP and UUP by voting for the moderate unionist Alliance party in their droves at the next election. Will they? I won't hold my breath.

For some reason it always has to come down to a tragedy to break these unionist protests.

What happened last night is indefensible by anyone, and yet I've seen people trying to defend it by saying 'we told you there would be road blocks, its up to you to make other arrangements to see your dying wife'.

But why should it come to something like this for public opinion to turn on these animals.

Night courts for about two to three weeks is the only way with a mandatory six month sentence for any violence towards police.

Sick of seeing cops standing, getting pelted or "keeping factions apart". A good old fashioned baton charge with cuffs being welded on to any vermin caught and straight to court.

Plastic bullets at any missile throwers. This new generation of "protestor" wouldnt have the bottle for it.

Yep, reports that wee Willie was whipping the 'protesters' into a frenzy at the city hall and telling them 'If you are attacked, you have the right to defend yourself!' Then they left for the Short Strand.

Such a malignant little scrote that guy. Pity his kind wouldn't just die off.

One thing which I have to say is very positive is the wide birth dissident republicans are giving this.

The provos got credit by defending the short strand. ( Legend that he is, Billy McKee is in his nineties now)

It would be easy for the dissidents to try to emulate him and the battle of Saint Matthews and defend the short strand against this loyalist scum but thankfully they haven't and hopefully won as that might kick things up a gear and make it worse(probably why they havent done anything)

Look at the numbers on the street? Its a bunch of hardline loyalists motivated and directed by the UVF. As much as I disagree with the idea of unionism there should be no allusions that this is not a representation of the unionist community and it would be ignorant to tar them with the brush that should be saved for loyalist lunatics.

These people have Willie Frazer and the PUP as their cheerleaders, that's indication enough that these people are using the banner of loyalism to drum up support for themselves.

I'm not here to convince you, just made a point as to why I disagree with you. Anything after that is up to you.

One thing about all this protesting is people completely missing the mark of what they are really protesting about and this is a sign of things to come. The union flag only flying on specific days throughout the year has become a symbol of change, and loyalists don't like the outcome of that change.

If you can trawl through the ridiculous comments from Willie Frazer and his ilk the underlying issue for those "protesting" is the fact that loyalists are not getting their way anymore. This flag issue is a representation of Loyalist fears that steps towards a United Ireland are on the way. Obviously that's not the case because the main representatives of both communities would have nothing to gain, Sinn Fein included.

The heat may die down on these protests over the coming weeks/months but if another issue similar to this riles the loyalist community in a similar way, then I think groups such as the UVF are not going to see pot shots and riots against the police as there ultimate action.

This audio clip was luckily recorded by the BBC, but how many similar stories are there? Why are these illegal marches and protests going largely unpunished? Lift these people and set a precedent for riotous behaviour and causing millions in damages and lost revenue.
