Petty things that satisfy you

On my way to work this morning theres 2 sets of lights in a row that I always get the red for coming up to the red cow. But never takes more than one change to get through them.
Today the pedestrian lights also got me. As I was taking off some prat in a big white modified car came racing up the bus lane skipping the traffic and passed the garage (which probably woulda been ok to skip the traffic if he was turning left into the garage but not at that speed.
Just as I muttered twat under my breath I saw some big beautiful blue lights pulling outta the garage and balance was restored to the roads, Even if he was let off with a warning he saved no time in the end by skipping out 5 cars at a dangerous speed up the bus lane.
This put a smile on my face early in the morning. A little smug and petty of me i know.
Just got me thinkiin is there anything thta really satisfies you that seems a little petty when you look back at it?

The OPs story reminded me of being in a slow queue of traffic stuck behind a car doing 60 to 65 on 100k roads for the best part of an hour coming from the beara peninsula where there is very few opportunities to pass out when the front car didnt slow down going through a village and got pulled over for speeding.

Watching people run to make the bus and it drives off just as they are up beside the door. So satisfying!

Annoying someone the way they annoy me to teach them a lesson.
It has worked for me so far. Feels good too.

I once saw a group of teenagers messing around outside my house. One of them pushed another one and his head went flying into a pole and bounced back about two feet. I felt a bit guilty for finding it hilarious.

I take a slight pleasure in watching car drivers using the bus lanes getting snared by the hidden biker cop lying in wait.

The green isle hotel approach at Newlands cross is my favourite place to partake in my hobby.

Watching a fat person run for the bus, especially when I know they will be getting off in 1 or 2 stops. I find it amusing that they are willing to run for the bus, but not walk the 1 or 2 stops!

While cycling, having some knobend driving aggressively right behind you like he's in a rush, who then overtakes and flies off down the road...100m to the end of a queue of traffic.

Nothing more satisfying than just cruising up and then sailing past him/her. A wave is extra good is you're feeling super petty, and it feels doubly good if they beeped before overtaking.

    Was the young lad decapitated?
If so then I for one fail to see any humour in it whatsoever, in fact it has all the hallmarks of a tragic accident as a result of some innocent horseplay.
    When did this happen?
I listen to 'Liveline' almost every day and never heard a peep.

Instead of being convulsed with laughter you should have quickly picked up 'the head' and placed it in a large bucket along with a packet of frozen peas, jumped into a taxi with the headless teen and raced to the nearest A&E.
Whilst in the car take the head out of the bucket, and with a marker or black biro write the letter 'F' - for front- on the forehead, you don't want an overworked surgeon sewing it back on the wrong way, imagine the embarrassment.....................for the surgeon of course.

Next time someone literally 'loses their head' outside your house, try and do something useful.
    Good day to you!

Waiting to cross a busy junction in the middle of the city, the lights had changed and traffic was starting to turn the corner but one mess of a man casually strolled across the non-pedestrian crossing road regardless. The first car had to stop to allow the man to pass, not embarrassed or bothered by holding up traffic the man continued to cross at a crawling nonchalant pace. The driver got annoyed so beeped his horn, the man simply gave the finger and continued to stroll.

The obnoxious little troll did not realise the second car waiting to turn because of his slow pace was a police van so two large burly guards quickly jumped out of the back to give him a little chat. The look on his face when he saw them was absolutely priceless and kept a smile on my face for the entire working day.

There's a few people at training that never stop bragging about themselves, praising themselves when they do something right.

When they miss an easy point or goal, I shiver with delight.

When driving to work up the M7 in the mornings and a steady line of traffic doing approx 100km/hr, There is always a BMW or Audi driver who decides he will save loads of time by over taking and then jostling back into the few metres of space between you and the car in front. Congratulations you just saved yourself 1/10th of a second.

I like to speed up during his manoeuvre and leave no space for him to re-enter the main line of traffic therefore leaving him stuck behind a nice big artic lorry. Its petty but satisfying!!!!

Telling my daughter that we're going to see Santa but then actually just going to the pub so I can get drunk and watch the football, that'll learn her to get all happy and excited.

Before people jump down my throat for doing this, just sit back and think about this valuable life lesson I'm teaching her.

Seeing kids fall flat on their face after they run around supermarkets too quickly.

That cold white tile teaches them a lesson that their parents obviously haven't.

Peeling the clear film off the screens of phones and computers..dont know why..

Getting to a pedestrian crossing and the green man turning on just as I'm about to cross.

    Getting your back scratched

Standing in a massive queue for the supermarket check out and a new one opens and your the first to get to it

Watching skateboarders take a tumble always makes me chuckle. Or generally when show-offy people fail at something and then watching them try to play it off.

    Shove it up yer gee!

Only people who play poker will understand this.

Yesterday i was playing heads up and went all in with AJ, your man slow rolled me and called with aces in the last second. The flop was 2,3,4. Dunno what the next card was but the beautiful river was a 5 so we split the pot. Slowrolling prick. I went on to beat him.

When someone makes a big deal about weaving quickly around/past people on a busy/narrow path, and then you catch up with them anyway when they're at stuck at a crossing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,147 ✭✭✭PizzamanIRL

Being overtaken when you're doing the speed limit and you meet the car 5 minutes later at traffic lights. So satisfying.

Clean toilet paper on the first wipe. Very satisfying knowing you have saved some valuable seconds that would otherwise be spent doing something fairly unpleasant.

As much as i understand this is a light hearted, 'bit of fun', I completely object to comments as crude and vulgar as these. To say i am appalled and sickened by the grossly explicit image conveyed by this 'first wipe' is an understatement. Please, for people of my moral and upright standard, refrain from needless, obscure and down right sick comments such as these.

please note I have also sent a request to ban you to the moderator

I was in Superquinn during the week, availing of their cheap booze. The guy on the checkout clipped one of the cans on something and it started spraying on the, rather well-to-do, lady behind me. Luckily enough she didn't see me pissing myself laughing at this, she was too busy giving out to the cashier. :D
