    No particular reason but I wouldn't have thought there were that many people hunting in Ireland.

    The document is a few years old so some things might differ. For example the price of the old licenses are on it (€25 & €38) rather than the new €80 / 3 year license fee.

    As for the number of hunters. 300,000 seemed high to me, but i suppose if you count everyone with a firearm, people that hunt with dogs, ferrets, hawks, etc. (IOW no guns) it could be. I presume they are not talking about anglers/fishing? It might make the number that high or possibly higher.
