Oh dear. Some people most certainly don't think.

While we are on the subject of not thinking - do you have evidence that spurs had originally planned all of this with Leige? You have no proof it simply wasn't just a coincidence that happened exactly like Leige and Spurs claimed it did.

A coincidence after he already played for Spurs academy in July? Come on... You're being delusional because it involves Manchester United.

I'm also not the one making silly comments considering all the sh1te that's gone on lately but suit yourself.

You have no proof though. For someone who's happy throwing out bollox accusing other people of making libellous statements I find it incredible that you have no problem doing the exact same. Then to accuse me of delusional is just the icing on the cake.

My only proof is that he lined out for a Spurs development side in July. What can't you comprehend about that?

If you can't see what has happened here then I suggest a slight dose of reality may be required.

Ugh, you still can't seem to grasp this. I never said Spurs didn't organise it this way. I simply said you have zero proof. Considering you were so quick to get up on your high horse over my claims about Fergie tapping up players saying that what I said was libellous I'm amazed you have no problem saying something equally as libellous against Spurs since you actually have zero proof what went on.

My point isn't about him not being able to point out certain things because of other wrongs he may have committed.

If the two weren't so interrelated within a world that I think everyone is aware of what goes on but everyone turns a blind eye with the victor usually being the club who can play the rules best. My problem is that I think it's all part of the game and that Ferguson knows that better than anyone and when he calls out Spurs here then he breaks generally accepted fourth wall.

I remember when Ronaldo was apparently tapped up by Madrid, Ferguson was furious but I think he was probably made aware that listen if you play the game I don't think you can complain too much when you get burn. Part of all this brinkmanship in transfers is nod and wink stuff with rules getting bent as far as people can get away with it. If you're going to involve the police then maybe it's a good idea that you don't also deal.

I still think tapping up players is quite different to what Spurs did and I wouldn't bracket the two together, they are both underhand but in different ways. Tapping up is a (generally) subtle tactic that every club engages in. What Spurs did is far more blatant and unprecedented in comparison. It's an obvious disregard and disrespect for the compensation rules in place. And unlike tapping up, something could realistically be done to stop it happening in the future.

I'm not looking for Spurs to be punished or anything like that, all I'd hope is that there is an amendment of the rules to prevent stuff like this happening again. I'm sure as a Liverpool fan and considering the amount of work gone into your youth set up over the last several years, you wouldn't like to be shafted by other clubs in a similar manner in the future.

West Ham have signed Brazilian Wellington Paulista from Cruzeiro on a six-month loan deal with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.

The 28-year-old, who holds an EU passport, can play as a striker or winger.

Of course I have no proof. How could I have proof. My statement was made on facts; Zeki lining out for Spurs in July etc.

    Your statement was exceptionally stupid.

    This is going nowhere now...

Not too sure what to think of this tbh. He's still a good player but really Utd are crying out for a long-term solution to their midfield and he most certainly doesn't represent that.

    Really? Source?

James Ducker is claiming that Ferguson is giving serious consideration over signing him in the Summer, now in this window.

Ducker would usually be one of the more reliable journos.

Just journo talk and the like on Twitter. More of a case that it just makes sense, the fact that he will be available, that Fergie has a liking for adding a quality older player (blanc, Larsson, Owen...) every so often, that he plays in a position where United could do with more quality.

Obviously not a long term solution but would be a smart addition imo. Still has the hunger and will possibly have a little point to prove after Chelsea letting him go.

As a United fan, I think it only works if Giggs or Scholes are going AND he's free.

With those two conditions, I'd be perfectly happy bringing him in as a squad player with experience and ability. Not a long term solution, but one to tide the team over as Clev, Anderson and Powell continue to mature.

I wonder if Lampard would go to United, would possibly tarnish his Chelsea legacy to a certain extent. He might see it as too good an opportunity to pass up with Chelsea not wanting him though.

Loyalty is rarely as big a factor (if at all) that fans would like to believe. Don't think he'd give a **** if given the chance to prolong his career at the top level on decent wages.

True, although it's hard to tell sometimes with these club legends. Beckham for instance has said he'll never go back to play for another PL club besides United.

See you're probably reading those quotes through red tinted glasses. Why would he/ his family want to come back and play in a rubbish climate at this stage of his career when he more than likely has endless huge offers from teams in far more appealing locations. Suits him to use his united love as an excuse to turn down the English offers.

I'm uber cynical when it comes to this type of thing.

If LA Galaxy had let him he would have played for Spurs last season so you can take certain things with a pinch of salt. I doubt many players would refuse to play for any rival club these days if the price is right. Frank Lampard is no different so if UTD were to go in for him I'd say he'd jump at the chance

I don't doubt that Beckham would have had better offers in more attractive destinations but it's not a stretch for him to be telling the truth when he says he won't play for another PL club out of respect for United. He regularly talks about his love for the club and you could see from his time with England what a loyal character he is.

How do you know? Didn't Harry come out a few weeks ago when asked and say that he tried to get Beckham last season but was told he won't play for another English club bar United?

That rumoured story about Sahin going back to Dortmund is crazy, especially if Pool have to subsidise the wages.

To be fair though he was awful any time I saw him and showed nothing to justify the pre-signing hype of which there was plenty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,267 ✭✭✭opr

Corriere dello Sport report that Juventus are set to tie up a deal for Didier Drogba which will be a 6-month contract and a fee of just €3m.

That could be an inspired short term solution for them this season.

Is he still not a Real Madrid player?

If thats the case there's no reason why Liverpool should or would have to pay if he goes to Dortmund.

Cause Dortmund won't pay the full whack for him so if Pool want him off the books in some shape or form they'd have to. It's by no means anything more than a rumour but that's the jist of the twitter sphere.
