Iv had mine unshaved but kept trimmed down for over 4years, went mad with the razor one night, shaved the lot of it off and I didnt recognize myself!!!

The fun I had the next morning when the girlfriend of nearly 4years wokeup next to me and got a fright haha

Depends on how the beard is styled. If it's just left growing without any shaping you end up looking like a caveman. I rather keep my beard short and neat.
