    Give Sam another tick for telling someone that appealing welfare claim would be successful. [99/12] [21st Sept].

    Extract:
      Regarding the element of the broadcast concerning advice on a social welfare appeal; the Committee was ot the view that this element did not comply with the requirements of section 8.10.2 of the Code. In particular, it was the Committees view that the unequivocal manner in which the presenter answered the question i.e. with a 'yes' was such that it would create the impression for viewers that the response was not an opinion but a prediction of actual future events. The failure of the presenter to qualify the response with an indication that it was her opinion would have reasonable reinforced this perception amongst viewers.

    Extract:
    The committee noted the broadcaster's view that the issue of children is not solely a health matter, but also a matter related to relationship and family issues. However on review of the broadcast it was the Committee's view, on balance, that there was nothing to suggest that the discussion related to relationship or family issues and accordingly the content was considered to be one that concerned a health related issue, contrary to the requirements of 8.10.4.



    Looks like he paid the price for trying to be clever with what he thought was a troll.
