Your mixing him up with scrum half Marcus Walsh who got Connacht academy last year and played with Lansdowne this season

No Im not. I mean Jacob Walshe, Roscrea prop and then Roche who plays for Lansdowne who is unsigned

Moloney, O'Brien, Walsh and Parata are big signings. If we got Mark Roche signed on we would be laughing.
Jacob Walshe is a good pickup alright,

Consider me very skeptical on Mark Roche.

wouldnt go mad on roche, good player and a brilliant attitude but personally dont quite think he's academy standard. that said he could very well go tear it up in the JWC with some sleek lines and we'd be eating our words per se
Jack Dineen to Connacht aswell apparently

he the backrower? munchins or somewhere? hes not in any of connachts updated squadlists anyway

Dineen was the Crescent Comp backrow and someone else on MF's who would be in the know has said Greg O Shea has not joined the Leinster Academy

O'Shea is not in Leinster Academy, he may have been include in inital Leinster Under 20 squad but that is the extent of it

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how the new IRFU model of not paying players will affect the College Scholarship programes?Surely that is payment of players? There are a lot of "incentives" to join particular U20 teams at various AIL clubs.

Apparently Lyons from Munster is heading off to Ulster aswell.

A lot of rumors about Lyons, O'Shea and Dineen.

and understandably you'd have to agree, however this is a once in a lifetime chance for these guys so it's a tough one to call!

Considering how highly rated O'Shea is supposed to be, he'd be a big loss to the Munster academy, we're not exactly overflowing with talented backs.

No. You regularly see updated academy lists up on provincial websites around this time but players often added after JWC. Varies year on year

Leinster academy isn't normally announced until after the JWC I think. I remember last year not knowing during the JWC

I think the four guys going straight from school were announced before the JWC. Leavy, Thornbury and the Byrnes.

Presumably O'Shea will have an eye on going back to Munster post academy and college.

It was discussed on Leinsterfans, but seems to be a college decision more than anything, but don't see why he'd stick around at Leinster if he was going to make it as a pro, there would be every chance he would go back to Munster to take up a full pro contract at the end of it all if that's where his mates and family are and that's the team he has supported his whole life.

Best of luck to him anyway whatever he does. Leinster could do with a speed merchant if he decided to stay. ;)

Your man Shane Buckley is awful, don't rate him at all. Cost us the match against England in the JWC.

Very harsh. Not awful at all. Crazy to knock him for something that happened in 1 game last year. Decent player in AIL. Hopefully he goes on and plays Pro12 quite a bit next season

Saw him playing for Garryowen last season too and wasn't great. You're right though, OTT from myself. Hope he pushes on.

Where it says Cathal O'Flaherty has not been re-contracted, does that mean that both Munster and the player mutually agreed to a release? Or is an academy spot a rolling one year contract for three years?

Fair play to young Jack Cullen, from Irish youths straight to Academy at 18, very impressive. John Madigan also from last years Irish youths as well as Greg O'Shea from the schools and Gearoid Lyons ............all 18 years old.

Best of luck to all the lads.
