Ha, thought it was just me that noticed that. The multi pack taste like a cheap knock off. Still a good price tho. I'll give um a go

Not from a chilled two litre bottle imo. They are always fine.

The 500ml bottles aren't nice though.

I remember someone complaining about it in a BA thread once. I think Dunnes used to do actual 24 can slabs of the normal stuff.

Starting in Super Valu on Thursday the 22nd they have 18 cans of Coke, Diet and Zero for 5 euro. Two packs per customer. That works out 28 cent a can or 84 cent a litre

These are flying out the door this morning, I was in my local SV and its 2 per real rewards card and the people were lined up before me with slabs of them!

It's not bad but not as good as you might think at first. The deal is for one day only and works out at 28c per can. But Dealz do a deal with any 4 cans(Coke,Pepsi,7up, Tango etc) for 1.49 ALL THE TIME. Works out at 37c per can. So while SV's deal isn't bad, considering it's for one day only, Dealz' offer the best deal on minerals all year round.

supervalue wicklow town is not stocking this offer went down this morning and asked at desk

For people living in Galway Joyce's supermarkets have this offer too if you bring the voucher in todays Advertiser.

They also have a voucher for a tin of Roses for 3.99

yeah, I'd pay the bit extra to be able to handpick exactly which ones I want, and not have to buy 18 at once.

    That may be.

But every town has a Super Valu whereas Dealz is rare enough.

18 cans for €5 or 16 cans for €5.96? Length of availability kinda irrelevant...
    Cheers OP

Cavan had loads of these this morning. No real fanfare surrounding it at all.

I didn't even see the cans and had to ask behind the counter if they were doing it.

I called into Supervalu in Kilrush yesterday to take advantage of this offer.

Plenty of cases of coke stacked up just inside the door, beside current offers.

Supervalu point of sale advertising this promotion had an extra notice poorly written on white paper attached, advising all potential purchasers that they would have to spend €20 in store to qualify for the 18 cans for €5 deal.

I asked 2 staff members about this and was informed that I would have to spend €20.

One of the ladies told me she didn't know anything about promotions or how they were run she was just there to serve customers, some staff training wouldn't go amiss there.

Second lady told me I could speak to a manager if I wished but they had already turned down several people trying to avail of the offer because they hadn't spent €20.

I couldn't resist hanging around to speak to the manager, and his excuse for limiting the promotion to those customers that spend €20 or more in his store was that he was sick of people just walking in and taking advantage of the offers.

Definite retraining of management required in this store.

I got my case of coke without spending an extra €20.

You gotta just love the ignorance of that, says a lot about Supervalu (in the wrong vein)

F-W-T, you should make a written complaint to Musgraves head office, they won't be too happy to have a franchisee deny people one of their biggest offers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,175 ✭✭✭hoodwinked

you shoud definitely let Musgaves know,

Our local supervalu had loads, and they kept re stocking throught-out the day, picked up 2 (max 2 per customer) that morning and my husband grabbed another 2 that afternoon.

Picked up last 3 slabs of Coke Zero last night at local SV. I think they were ok with me taking 3 instead of max 2 cos it was only 30min or so until closing time.

    Cheers OP :D
