I used them in .308 and found them very good and well priced. My friend is using them and finds the same. I stopped using them as I prefer ballistic tipped ammo.

Currently using them in a .308, and used them in 6.5. Good round in both, cheaper than other brands, and just as available.

Switched over to some BT, but still mixing. I find the Fusion can pass through an animal. More so than BT. When my last batch of Fusion are gone i'm going to stick with the Hornady BT.

Still not taking away from the Fusion. Good round.

I found the same they seemed to pass through and leave runners even with well placed shots.I stopped using them for this reason but they were accurate bullets

The reason I asked the question is that I have one pass though a deer this weekend ,without opening up ,knocked the deer down ,I left it for a few minutes and when I approached what I though was a dead animal it got up and tried to run off .When I skinned it out I could see where the 1st Bullet hit but it passed straight through same sized entry and exit wound , Is it that they are designed for bigger animals than our deer here in Ireland or have I a faulty batch. I really would be very un-happy if it happened agaain, However I shot a 6 pointer 2 weeks ago and he only ran a few yards before keeling over stone dead,no problem with that bullet decent exit wound /blood trail. Was curious to see if anybody else was suffering the same issue's, Have read on forum's about this problem occuring else where .

    Thanks

I used to use 150gr remington coreloked in my 308 but after several deer got up and ran after being hit with a well placed shot (through the heart) ~I switched to the fusion and have never looked back...once they go down they stay down

some bullets are designed to penetrate deeper before expanding (coreloked) suitable for larger game but will pass right through a small sika
The jacket on the fusion psp is weaker around the tip to allow more rapid expansion

I have used several boxes of these and find them poorly packaged, and because of this the soft point was flattened on most of them and completely gone off some of them, has anybody noticed this??? I don't use them because of this.

The federal that I use have a copper jacket all the way to the tip, there are groves partially down the way to all the bullet to expand easier on impact,
any that I have recovered have a star shaped mushroom tip which I presume is to cause drag and slow the bullet down within the body

some of them do seem to have a bit of lead over the tip from what I think is a bit left over from molding.

Just my own experience. But In the case you describe, I am convinced the problem is with the calibre. Or more so, the rounds designed for it. My first deer rifle was a 6.5x55, and I had numerous similar situations with deer. I may well be way of the mark, but I believe the 6.5x 55 over penetrates far too often. This leaves the bullet zipping through the animal, without expanding or dumping much energy. Leaving runners on good chest shots. Again just my experience.
