I turned on tonight and my nat type has gone to moderate from open, can't get a decent game now, putting full clips into the enemy and I'm still dying, crazy

I think while you're in the pre game lobby if you press square (or whatever the equivalent is on xbox) it gives you the option to mute everyone in the lobby except members of your party. It's not a permanent thing but it's simple enough to do in each new pre game lobby you join.

Try loading up the first Black Ops game or Mw3 if you still have them and it should hopefully reset your NAT (PS3 User). If your an xbox user, quit to main xmb menu and do a test on your internet connection. This also should reset your NAT to open.
If your running solo moderate NAT should not affect your gameplay. Its when your in a party that it starts to F things up. Hope this helps!

Well it's half 7 in the morning and it still saying server is not available. I'm getting a little annoyed right about now.

Had that problem last weekend. Then got a message saying the console was banned from blops 2. Rang Activision and guy told me to delete the game data from the game utility data folder, redownload the updates and viola no more problem.
I'd ring activision (the number's in the manual) they should be able to sort you out.
Of course it would be better if they'd iron out the bugs before releasing the game but they know we'll all buy it anyway.

Yeah , as Bazzerman said what I normally do is quit, load up MW2,go into a lobby, quit, reload Blops 2 and then usually it's ok. This has been happening since Blops1 to me although it doesn't seem to fix everytime now, like it did before.
Not sure it really matters with this game as you can have open / good net and connection is still awful - as in so bad, moderate won't make it any worse.

Have you tried changing your DNS setting on Ps3 to conteract the lag comp. I found it helped a bit, easy enough to do and does not involve port forwarding or any of that BS!

Changing DNS settings will do nothing. If you found a change its just a placebo.

DNS is just Domain Name Server. Boards.ie is really ip XXX.XXX.XX.XXX DNS translates the IP to the name and the name to the Ip. It saves people having to remember Ip addresses.

I have seen people say this before, no idea why they would think it would work.

Well again guys still no luck. Servers are still not available at this time. And I erased and downloaded the updates. Getting irked any ideas. Take the game back ? Burn it. ?

Ok so, I read about this on another forum bout changing the primary and secondary DNS on ps3 to the ones google use. 8.8.8.8 primary and 8.8.4.4 secondary. Its all bulloney so...??? ??

I was fine until this afternoon, servers are unavailable now.
I haven't downloaded any updates or anything since yesterday, I've a great connection with open NAT. Getting a bit annoyed with this now..

Vondernoob would just say that there is a counter to it with Tac mask. Thats half the problem with this game, the put something in and just add a counter and think thats balanced. But when there is so much in the game its impossible to counter everything with a setup. You will always get caught out by something or the other.

true, but then you have to sacrifice being able to run more than 5 feet without stopping or getting killed by bouncing bettys with no engineer, I know you can have the greed perk and use two but you still lose out, i have extreme conditioning on all my classes it wrecks me head running for 2 seconds, stopping, running again, stopping. how out of shape are the guys in this game :pac:

What ISP are you on? Whenever this happens to me (Eircom) I just switch off the PS3 and then switch off the router. Leave it off for 10 seconds then let the DSL Sync happen and then switch the PS3 back on and I can usually get back online in BLOPS.

Funny I just switched to sitcom and noticed that's when all the problems started. I'll try that later and see what happens. Thanks dude.

Extreme conditioning is rubbish. Marathon was way more usefull. I can only assume the nerfed it because its a rushers perk, though I suspect they would say its to stop knifing noobs...

ha thats a good point, sprinting in Blops2 s a deathwish most of the time, a lot of people just walk around hipfiring with laser enabled smg's. Doing terribly all last night, got a probabation for ragequitting a league play game after being killed twice by the same airstrike then respawning into a guys line of fire. **** that. and another game being beaten in a 1v1 by a guy who was walking around a corner towards me clear as day on the uav after a teammate called in a blackbird, a joke.

Sprinting in the open is a deathwish - but sprinting around stuff using the terrain can be good - so long as you don't have a lag delay - basically it allow you to get into firing psoition before the other guy who ran around the other way after ye spotted each other

Mostly played halo yeaterday, decided to switch to this for a bit. Was back on halo within 15 minutes. Had to turn it off after being spawned into games right in front of the other team 5 or 6 times in a row on hardcore.

Why in God's name would anyone play hardcore? The amount of camping in core, I dread to think what h/c is like.

Its actually not that bad in Hardcore. good for quick gunfights and less minimap abuse...
