No ABS means a slight near-****-your-pants moment.

I'll be more careful of the road in future. I wonder how many people have this moment in their lives but it goes horribly wrong? I know I've read enough stories here to know I was pretty lucky.

I've had 2 sofar both caused by being inexperienced and letting the person in the passenger seat distract me (the kind who demand your full attention when talking ****e rather than the odd nod), now it's a case of accept the nod or walk :pac:

Went out to the car to bob into town to say hello to the mother in law (zzzz)
Car wouldn't start, while I'm happy it's cut that visit short, I hope it's not expensive!!
Battery is fine, starter is cranking engine, I hope I just my dad accidentally flooded it when he moved it a few feet!!

Ah well I have also decreed that next weekend I will not go out and drink until 5am on Friday night sat morning, 3 weeks in a row, weekends are fooked then, no fun at all.

    Aero boiii

Or the vectors are a decent spec, and some of the more modern Linears came with leather etc.

There's a linear sport model which is decent enough spec. Normal linear is bog basic though, doesn't even have speakers in the back.

Vector is the (realistic) one to get, the 2 tone leather is lovely.

The quality of leather on the SAABs is awful, and they seem really cheap inside.

I seriously wouldn't like to see the quality of that job. I wouldn't expect the bonnet and wings to be done with much change from €500 tbh.

This is someone my mechanic recommended so there could be a relationship there? I.e. my mechanic recommends people and his discounts and vice versa?

There were a few posts recently from people who got resprays done in Walkinstown I think for small money and they were very happy

My bonnet is not being done, it's the doors and boot :)

If your 159 is anything like every other Alfa it probably needs a new front badge which together with a really good clean and some decent number plates can change the front of the car. Happened on my 156. Unreal difference with just €20 on a badge.

I'd paint the callipers red too they always look good especially on an Alfa.

Saw the most ridiculous number plates I've ever seen on an Irish car today.

Forget your German style plates, forget your UK rear yellow plate. Saw a horribly modified Bora (yet to see a well modified one) driving around with New York number plates. Yes New York. Saw it in my rear view and thought it was a foreign reg car. Then he pulled up beside my at lights, and I saw his rear pale and realised it was an 03 KK car. Utterly ridiculous. Tiny font in red and not even resembling an EU plate.

There's a silver E46 somewhere in the country with California plates on it too...
