Pretty bad start to the season.

No Run game, couldnt stop anything run wise and our much vaunted secondary was poor too.

Also I think the Giants look far far better this year and with this division could finish up around the 11-5 mark.

But there is always next week, hopefully Cousins can make some adjustments and Jones can find some space to use that pace

Not in stopping the run. Elliott/Morris are going to stack up the yards on Sunday.

We won't be in the Super Bowl overnight. Making clear strides as a team with McCloughan, pretty clear to see. Given the horrendous mess that Shanahan and RG3 left us in we're well ahead of schedule imo.

yeah I know, maybe I am being a bit hard but the fact that they didn't address the run problems on both sides of the ball is very annoying.

Why let Morris go? Never made sense to me. But we'll see maybe Jones can be that explosive Chris Johnson type of back.

Cullen Jenkins resigned to shore up the DL. Stupid that they released him last week just so they wouldn't have to guarantee his salary for the year. Could have done with some reinforcements last night. Austin Reiter gone to make room.

I said this before, letting Morris of is going to be a move they're going to regret (kind of like the Mets letting Murph go and him signing with a rival).

With that OL, him and Elliot are going to run a muck next Sunday.

I don't think letting go if Morris was of a massive detriment to the team. He struggled massively last year in the scheme. When Jones was healthy he outplayed him for the most part imo.

Just very unfortunate he ended up in Dallas of all places.

Is it unfortunate or is it a FU to the Redskins similar to what Jackson did to the Eagles?

I do think it was a mistake. Jones and Morris also have completely different skill sets so I dont think accomodating both would be a problem.

Next week though we have a chance against Dallas as Prescott looked a little shaky last week. That said our defence was abysmal against an aging running back last night.

I don't think Morris was entirely the problem though. The Redskins OL is poor at opening up lanes and I think we're going to see Jones/Kelly/whoever struggle this year too.

Watch Morris on Sunday with a decent OL and see what he can do.

He might not get the ball though Jack. More chance that Elliott rips us apart with his pace

I don't think it was a FU to the Redskins as he was kind of rooting for Kirk last night and I think he is a classy guy all round.

I know they have to spin a bad situation some how but when your drive of the game results in a FG, you know you had a bad game!

Kind of a must win game tomorrow even it is only week 2. With the schedule ahead, they really can't go 0-2 at home.

While watching the Cowboys/Giants game last week I'd forgotten how much Cole Beasley pisses me off. Between him and Witten, they always seem to make plays on 3rd and long extending drives.

And the difference between the Cowboys and the Redskins is that when the Cowboys are in 3rd and 9, Beasley/Witten run a route over 9 yards, make the catch and get the first down. Whereas the Redskins receivers run a 7 yard route and get tackled a yard or so short of the 1st down.

That always pisses me off. I know the plan is to get the first down on YAC but defences play so tight in these situation it never happens. Just have the receiver run a route past the first down marker FFS.....!!!!!

Yep really can't afford to be going 0-2 to start the year at home. The fact this is such a poor Cowboys team too, we need to be taking advantage.

I see Norman is going to stick to the left side so we may see a lot of Breeland v Dez. No problem with that personally. Breeland shut Dez down in his rookie year and can do it again today.

Same crap again. Can't get off the field on 3rd and longs.

This defence is a joke. I presume it'll be another WR in the 1st round next season Scott?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,687 ✭✭✭✭jack presley

Of course it had to be Morris.

But before that, f&€king Beasley. It's always Beasley.

    Terrible performance.

Poor defence, Kirk rubbish, awful red-zone play calling, penalties again.

And that's two weeks in a row the centre has been penalised for a false start. Idiot!

That might be the worst loss I've ever seen us have and we've all seen some ****ing atrocious ones.

That Cowboys team is absolutely horrifically bad.

    Joe Barry needs firing.

I bet Kirk wishes he signed whatever the Redskins offered him in the offseason because if he keeps playing like this, he'll be accepting a much smaller offer this time.

I dunno redzone mistake aside he wasnt terrible yesterday. IF we continue to just allow the opposition to run the ball down our throats we cant expect to win. There were some bad drops as well and chances we should have taken went awry early.

Always next week. The Giants look much better defensively though and I think they'll storm this division.

The redzone is where you earn your money though. All well and good driving up and down the field accumulating stats but it really needs to finish in a TD. His accuracy has been off for both games now. His miss on Crowder was awful and he shouldn't be overthrowing Jackson. And there were a couple of low throws too. At least he stretched his legs a bit and ran for a few 1st downs.

My biggest complaint about the defence is the amount of times they let Dallas receivers get wide open, especially on 3rd downs. It was as if they just switched off.

Norman was excellent yesterday. A terrific signing. Even more crazy that he wasnt on Antonio Brown the week before.

Yeah Norman was good yesterday. I love him punching at the ball.

I thought the love fest between him and Bryant at the end of every play was a bit unnecessary though.

mutual appreciation. I like Dez so I dont mind that so much. Be interesting to see how much damage he does to OBJ when we play.

Damn it, I've no will power.

I said all along that I wasn't going to go to the Wembley game as, having been to a Redskins game in the States as well as previous Wembley games, there really is no comparison in the experience and Wembley lags well behind. So I was happy enough when the Redskins v Bengals game sold out so the decision was taken out of my hands.

But a few tickets went on sale this morning and out of curiosity I had a look. Then I saw that I could fly over and back on the same day with Ryanair for under €50 and the next thing I know I have flights booked and a ticket bought!

Let's hope they're not 2-5 or 1-6 by the time the game rolls around.

You buy a premium sideline ticket Jack?

No nothing fancy like that. I'm up in the top deck, about 25 rows up so I'll need to remember to bring my glasses. In line with the edge of the D on the seat guide so probably opposite the 10-20 yard line. £50 ticket. I've no idea which team is on which sideline though.

Wembley is no comparison and is obviously a massively different atmosphere but that'll be a good day out. Any chance to see your team. Should be a decent game.

I'm flying back after the game, may see you at the airport :)
