I can't see any metion of DiSEqC in the manual or the specifications. If the TV does hot have DiSEqC then it will not be possible to switch from Sat 1 to Sat 2. You did mention something about a motor setting before. If it has a motorised setting then it should have a DiSEqC switch setting nearby.

The user manual online is not very helpful with this.:

The samsung tv seems to pick up more or less the same stations on 19.2 and 28.2.

That would imply that the Samsung TV is not sending out the appropriate Diseqc commands to switch and the multswitch is staying on Sat 1 regardless if you select 28E or 19E.

I would suggest you get your receiver and change its configuration from motorised to multisat, either Diseqc A/B or Diseqc A/B/C/D.

Ok at last its sorted, the samsung 8000 series has a lnb option for Diseqc. the options are 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, a, b, The default setting is off.
I set 28.2 to 1/4 and 19.2 to 2/4 and it works. I can pickup over 1200 channels on 19.2 and can switch between satellites or display all channels combined. Is there a list of the french channels that are free to air?

Many thanks to everyone, without your help and assistance I could not have gotten this far or learned so much.

Are there any satellite guides for dummies available(bit late asking now)?

You probably wont be able to see the ones coloured beige (even though they are marked 'clear')
