Hmm....now everythings gone. My farm enclosure is empty

EDIT: On closer examination, my farms are empty but there's a few spawned out in the wild.

EDIT 2: Nevermind, there's still swarms all over the place. Just my farm that got hit...

You sure they weren't eaten by wolves that maybe spawned in there with them? Apparently it happened a lot yesterday. Or was a fencegate or something opened?

Had them in glass enclosures, and it was everything just missing, sheep, pigs, cows and chickens. Wolves only attack sheep, don't they? (Or at least that's all they were interested in yesterday).

Happened some time over night. They were all there last night when I was online, got up this morning to find all my enclosures empty. It's not a massive deal anyway. Thanks to the fact there's animals everywhere, I've managed to catch a few more easily enough.

When i logged on this morning, I thought maybe all mobs had been despawned in a bid to clean up the pest "problem", and that's why they were gone, but then everyone else respawned.

Will say it's great for food and leather.

Unfortunately for me, while this glitch has meant there are loads and loads of animals, the server is completely unplayable. Probably due to the entity count, but I can barely get above 2 fps, which is kinda pointless when being attacked by a swarm of wolves having lag-whacked one of them.

Right, I've restarted the server, hopefully that'll stem the tide of... well apparently not, because they're already everywhere again.

...Yeah that came out wrong in every way imaginable.

Also, seems like some chunks are worse than others, with some people logging in nearly killing the server, and otherwise it running marginally alright.

Right, so I keep checking the console every now and then, and an old issue combined with these mobs being everywhere is an annoying issue to say the least.

I'm going to copy the entire server and do some tests, see if I can find some solution. Will keep you all posted.

Edit: Server is down while I'm copying the files, shouldn't take too long though.

Edit2: Okay, so it appears as if the massive surge of mobs spawning was a once off thing, as once they're all gone everything seems to be back to normal, so solution would be to kill all the mobs that randomly spawned, however this would kill everyone's farm animals (tamed wolves and cats would be fine though). What do you guys think?
