I think that Ages should be rationed like most Tekkit servers ration EE blocks - only 2-3 active Ages per player, old ones are auto-deleted after all players leave them if the creator has made too many new worlds. That way you have 1 or 2 Ages for exploration and glyph harvesting and a nice stable Age for w/e you want. Otherwise the server will bloat like crazy due to all the pocket dimensions opened up :p

Hope to christ GregTech is fixed or removed, its messed up IC2 something fierce (starting T1 generators needing UU-Matter to make and other crazy s***). I miss RedPower but I'm guessing its out because it kept on messing up MystCraft and Eloraam never fixed all the issues caused by marble/basalt generation (which got ten times worse in conjunction with Myst) :o

I don't see a problem with GregTech, It means that you will not advance from being a caveman to having a fully automated factory within a day or two of playing. Not only that but it means you can now explore the other mods as viable alternatives rather than idle distractions as IC2 is no longer the go to mod for everything.

Edit: What generator needs UU-Matter? o.o

Water Mills, of all things. The only way to craft them (and a good few other things, like wind turbines) is Aluminium now. Which can only be made out of UU-Matter or a possible high-tier recipe from the Industrial Centrifuge - both endgame procedures. Low-end solars are also way out in OMGWTFRETARDED land, with an alternative recipe for wind turbines (that requires carbon plate spam) being the closest to a cheap sustainable power source. And by the time you can make a wind turbine or three you have most of the materials for full nano armor already. So why bother teching up when you can cheese?

I don't want to go from caveman to quantum, yet ironically this brute-force nerf on all sustainable power sources makes all T1/T2 sustainable generators unusable and people will either have to spend far longer mining so they CAN skip tiers and go straight for high-end solars or abuse the hell out of MystCraft Ages so they can cheese with semi-sustainable geos or bios. Less cheese, more linear progression plzkthx :p

I agree wih the mystcraft one but as of the red power one Eloraam has just not updated it yet, She is working on it though and as of the marble and basalt/volcanoe problem its that marble spawns when is touching an air block then spawn the vein but since skyland is well... In the sky it spawns and the basalt/volcanoe is that minecraft changed the way they gen chunks so that messed it up. And to gregTech I think its good but if the majority thinks so we can change to the pack that doesnt have it because they are doing that and as of now that is the "Hardcore" one

I agree with the recipes being a bit expensive but most people think of IC2 as "THE" starting game mod which it isnt there are much more alternitaves like thermal expansion or factorisation and as for the IC2 power we can use geo thermals with lava?

Could somebody who has acces to the server files delete all un-named worlds?

Must be about 70 ages at this stage and we are still missing 3 symbols :o

Sol's 3 age idea is good.

    Referring to FTB.

    Fixed now.

Also I just nuked the spawn by accident. I was trying to flatten out the mountains near it and underestimated them somewhat :pac:

I assume EE3 and RedPower will be added once those bugs are ironed out.

I'll be up for a permanent server and would be happy to support it.
Though are Lockette and CoreProtect compatible with FTB ??

Unfortunately Forge and Bukkit are not compatible:(

Suppose there is nothing wrong with making Personal Safes, it'll add a new challenge to the game anyway

Well the link above is to an early attempt at making some basic plugins. One that is useful is regions as it allows you to make regions and then deny people not a member of that region from destroying blocks, open chests etc.

I tested it on a personal server however and it is still rather buggy:(

Yeah I'd be happy to set up a permanent FTB server, though I would prefer to be able to restrict things a bit more. Even just having trusted ranks for stuff like nukes, I found out last night why they are banned on most servers :P

    Yea... So did I:mad:

I will get my revenge cnc.

Did he nuke your base  ??

Thats not on if he did

He nuked my spawn point. Twice. Then set my house on fire:P

But I have the last laugh, I still have a house while cnc lost his in Dec's nuclear explosion.

Edit; There is also this which provides some basic server commands and seems less buggy, However from what I have tested there does not seem to be a way to block specific items.
Edit2; Nukes can be disabled in the IC2 config
Edit3; Also this... Will test it now.

You left me in purpleness for 3 IRL days.
Naturally I have gone bat**** insane.
    Nuke nuke nuke.

Forestry items can also be locked to one person which is nice. Might be a good idea to get a few more OPs for FTB until a good way to monitor the server is found.

Where is there a link to this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,115 ✭✭✭Completionist
