Agree with this - the IE image that you show indicates that there is a problem loading the plugin in IE.
Try with a different Browser or selct the 'Mobile Version' to see if you can connect.
are you using internet explorer there, might be a browser problem
    have a look thru this

Ok guys actually got it working.

I got a loan of my brothers laptop which has different security settings than my own work one.

Step 1 complete. May wait until Friday to get the next stage set up

I have the F18910W camera and my viewer software is completely different.
Have you taken the right software from the CD.
See page 8 on the attached. This is what mine looks like.

Thanks this is a different document than my own and it had a page that was not in my own. It gave the default password for the server. However it still doesnt show a live feed. I can pan and tilt the camera but no live feed. All i get is a black screen with a red cross in the center.

It says on that document that an add on should pop up at the top of the screen to allow me to run it. This doesnt appear.

Right guys I nearly have the hair pulled out of my head at this stage. Unfortunately in the middle of lambing now so only getting small amount of time to do anything. Plus there are too many restrictions on my work laptop so have to use the brothers.
But I could really do with this camera as my house is 10 mins from the home place.

This is where I got to I set up the camera in the house and connected it to the broadband via wireless. It was on port 88. However I also set up port forwarding to a different port. I set firewalls to low. I could view on the same network but could not access it from external address.

Then today I tried to set up the nano stations and followed the directions as described in some posts above. However when I type in 198.168.1.20 the page comes up as not found. Is this not the address to set up all nano stations?
At least if I could get this set up I could ask the brother to look at it from the home place and inform me of issues. He doesn't believe in going out to check sheep or helping out any more?

Sorry for the long rant. I would usually consider myself quite computer literate but this is going over my head.

    Any help greatly appreciated?

Ps sorry for any poor spelling. Predictive text on iPad.

Firstly if you are using the Nanostations, then better to set up Camera direct (not wireless) with Cat5 cable to router. In the shed you will have the second Nano which you will be plugging the camera into direct, so wireless not used in shed.
All the answers you want will be back along the posts. We'll onlly end up repeating information.
Get back to us if you get stuck. I know it's a pain, but worth it in the end.

I'd the same issue with the nano station a few months ago. I think I put up what I did to fix it on this thread so have a look for previous posts by me. If I remember rightly you need to download the ubiquiti discovery tool to find what address your nano station has now. Also port forward to a oort like 3333 as eircom block alot of the common ports like 88.

    Guys,

I am still not there with this Fceking camera. It has me drove mad. I have been over this thread a thousand times. I can nearly quote everybodys comments at this stage.

    This is where I am.
I have the camera working, I have the nano stations set up in the shed. I can view and operate the camera from the home place.

I set up port forwarding to 8090. I linked it to the camera but still no joy.

On award Hampsters video. HE sets up an No-ip address and puts this address into his browser and it links him back to the camera opening page. Why wont this work for me??????

I put in my current IP address and link it to port 8090 but all I get is nothing found. Current IP is 212.118.224.x (from whats my Ip.com)

I tried putting in the eircom Router Ip address as Palaska mentioned above and link this to port 8090 and it is not found. current eircom router address 86.46.194.x

Which one am i meant to be using.

What am i doing wrong. HElp before I o completely and uterly mad.

    Thanks!

forget accessing the camera from the internet for a minute, when you are accessing the camera from home and you put 192.168 bla bla into your browser, are you putting in the port number
    for eg 192.168.1.23:8090
if you have the port set up right you should need it to access camera internally as well
remember in the camera config somewhere you need to set up 8090 as the port number

    ok good
so when you open google and search whats my IP what address does it show up

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,552 ✭✭✭pakalasa

I was wondering how you were getting on with this.
Did you set up a DNS account like NO-IP.com? What this does is track the changing IP address of your router. So when you want to look at the camera from say work, you type ,for example http://camera.no-ip.org into the webbrowser. In your no-ip account you will have trapped the IP address at the time you set it up and no-ip will then keep track of you server address as it changes. You may have the data in NO-IP set up wrong?

    So what next?
I have tried several ports and it says they are all set up and linked to the camera. 8090 is the latest in a long line of ports opened.

One question on the Netopia homepage. When i set up the port forwarding, underneath is a tab for Static NAT. Should I have this enabled?

Trying turning down/off your firewall. Is it only 1 router you have? Whats the model?

Just a small thing but when I log onto my camera externally, I always have to use the 'back page' on Internet Explorer to get the viewer page, directly after I log on.

Hi I turned firewalls off still no joy. Only have the one router.

It's a std Grey eircombroadband router. Think it's a Motorola.

In the Camera software under Device Status and DDNS status what does it say. It should say 'NO-IP succeed http:/camera.no-ip.org:5656'.
This when 'camera.no-ip.org' is your no-ip address and 5656 is the specified port.

Hi palaska, no we can't even get as far as that. Some problem with ports from external addresses. Vanderbadger working on it with me. No luck so far but he has identified something which we will try in the morning.

At this stage if I was paying myself for time spent on it I could have bought the top of the range agri- camera.

Anyway at least lambing is going well. Only a few left at this stage but I am back to work next week so would be handy if I could get it going.

    sea12,
This is how I set up the No-IP address and the port forwarding in the router.
You also have to lower the Firwall to low security from medium.

On no_ip, the green stripe is the hostname like camera.no-ip.org.
Red is the IP adress of you router, like 43.56.78.23. You'll get this when you open the router.

    Hi palaska,
Thanks. The no ip page I have sent up no prob.

However the eircombroadband home page is completly different than mine. I can't attach the screen shot here as I am in my home house now.
What colour is your broadband router. Is it grey or black in colour?

    Black.

Sorry to bump this up again this late in year . Purchased same as everyone else ,foscam plus two nanos .

Can see camera on phone in house on own network via port 8090 , but can't get no ip to function .

We get internet from very good wireless company here in south east so off I go and ring the admin guru to ask if port forwarding is allowed and he says seeing as we have a fixed ip and that if port forwarding was set up properly in yon router (TP Link WR740N) it would just be a matter of typing in our ip +port number to access camera - am I making any sense ?

    Sorry again .

P.S. Havent even opened nanos !
