Not sure why they need to be in a ramekin as you would just dump them on the plate.

Why bother with a plate when you could just dump it on the floor.

Weird breakfast/lunch today - pan-fried haddock fillets with just salt, fresh black pepper and lemon juice, and some steamed broccoli. I now see the point of haddock - before I thought it was just a boring, bland fish, but having had some that was actually really fresh I see that there is a lovely gentle sweetness there that really benefits from simple cooking with very few added flavours.

Experimented with microwaved poachies today as I couldn't face the hard of messing with them in a pot, result were surprisingly good, I don't think I'll be going back!

    Hi!

So boil up some potatoes, I used the small ones as they were super six in aldi, so like 50 cent.

When they're still firm but nearly done, mash them in the pot or a mixing bowl with 1 spring onion some grated cheese, one egg and salt and pepper.

You're looking for a moist but firm consistency so if its too wet I added a little breadcrumbs to dry things up. Spoon onto an oiled baking tray then into like a biscuit portion and sprinkle a little cheese on top.

In the oven at about 200 then for about 15-20 mins! Eat and enjoy

Traditional weekend Avo toast. Today I put tomato in with the avocado, and put a rasher on each slice of bread, before topping with a just-set-yolk fried egg.

Homemade white bread, toasted, with a slice of chive cheddar dropped onto to it while hot. Lovely sweaty cheese <3

    Those beans - yuch.

A fry should not not not be swimming in a sea of baked beans. If baked beans must be served (although they have no place in an Irish breakfast) they should be in a ramekin.

    Pedantic rant over!

Mmmmm, a fry just the way I like it - soggy at the bottom and sweaty at the top.

How are you supposed to even eat it? You couldn't get a knife and fork in there to cut it. You supposed to try pour it into your gob a bit at a time and hope you don't choke on a sausage or get blinded by an egg?

I'm in Germany at the moment. It's market day today and I passed a Dampfnudel stall on my run. I knew exactly what I wanted for breakfast :D

Can't post photos from my phone it seems but it was a monster, with crust on both sides, that I ate with half a jar of delicious vanilla sauce!

I don't know what that is but it has a crust and is good with vanilla sauce so sounds amazing.

I had a slice of toast and grilled tomato and garlic.

I'm about to make "sausage" rolls for a mid morning snack. Frozen Linda McCartney ones. Very tasty.

It's a yeast dough, so texture-wise it reminds me of doughnut but it's cooked like a potsticker in salted water until the water is evaporated to leave a brown salty crust.

Dampfnudeln are amazing... When I visit my family back home and my mother makes them it's usually a feast that starts with Dampfnudeln and potato soup followed by Dampfudeln with vanilla sauce and a sauce with dried fruit. Food coma ensues...

I had homemade rye/wheat bread (1/3 2/3, all rye is waaaaay too much), toasted with nutella. No matter how little nutella I put on the blasted toast it ends up all over my hands (I have more than 20 years experience eating nutella n all)

I can't believe the breakfast in a jar! There is a great facebook movement called "we want plates" which aims to highlight such atrocities.
