The main orientation is Monday 3rd. I skipped my orientation and survived so I'd not worry too much.

Ahh yeah, not sure meself about that :L still waiting on UCD to get back to me on me own photo too, I think they all need to be reviewed?

Might be...I just received my letter from UCD, apparently there's a two-hours introduction to Arts and registration next Monday, but I really can't just buy a plane ticket and come to the introduction just for two hours and then go back to France :p
Are you planning to go ? Do you think it will really affect my
    registration/orientation/etc process if I can't go ?
Yeah I was thinking of going, but I can't imagine it being anything too serious, probably talks on the Arts course and stuff like that :)

Well it's before term starts so it's no disaster.

You'll have to pick up your student card separately I presume. You won't get the scarf or free memory stick I imagine, or the tour of campus. But you can just buy the first two items, if you really feel the need to, and you can explore UCD yourself (even with a tour you'd pretty much have to if you want to see everything.. it's huge). You can also get info about your course, and registration, from other sources if you have to.

You don't actually join clubs and crap until the second week of term. :pac:

I don't think there will be any pub open on campus during orientation week this year... so that's a bit of a dampner...

I see, I should be okay with registration etc as I have read pretty much everything there is to read on UCD website etc haha, it's more the social side and lack thereof if I don't go to orientation which bothers me :p
