seems that vic wanyama is in contract talks along with hooper, ending the speculation about wanyama would be great!

A good wee trip over there yesterday, fair to say the team looked to huff and puff a result though.

Good to get the 3 points and now we can enjoy the league table during the international break. Thought we deserved the win over the piece yesterday. Played pretty well in the first half and although we fell away a bit at times in the second half I though we did enough.

I was surprised both Ledley and Kayal didn't start after their recent sub appearances but certainly this was a game where we needed to field a strong lineup as you know they were going to up their game against us.

Personally I though Wilson played well unlike others. His so called mistake by the touch line was for me a foul against their player so the ball should never have been allowed to get to Paterson anyway without the whistle going. Credit to Lustig who I thought played well and maybe is begining to settle at Celtic. While hopefully we are now seeing Izzy begining to work his way back to top form as I though he was very good as he was during the week in Moscow.

plenty of other mistakes by wilson but he was equally guilty of obstruction, he wasnt in control of the ball and he tried to stop a player going to the ball, when he moved to block off a players run. this 'shielding' thing is actually against the rules most times i see it done these days

It looks like Commons is being called into the Scotland squad now due to more withdrawals. Total joke he was not in the squad to begin with really given his form.

Pot and kettle spring to mind Oh and it was still deemed offensive Celtic may have been cleared and in my mind rightly so but it still doesn't change that fact :p

I haven't seen that - is there a link, I'm just curious to see who, in the SFA, deemed it offensive.

Nope I don't have a link I suspect you will find it somewhere though and yes it was offensive in my mind but no I wouldn't expect Celtic to be held responsible for what a section of fans do

No offence BBE, but it's funny you refer to tit-for-tat nonsense, yet jump into the thread with this:

which is just perpetuating more of the same thing you are giving out about!

Pish but then you know that I was answering a question I didn't complain about the banner even though I found it disgusting lets face it there was no humour in it and of course you never bring anything up

Looks like Brown is out for at least a month:( while Forrest will not play Saturday against St Mirren and is doubtful for next midweek against Barcelona as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,529 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

brown shouldnt have been playing the last few matches. he should be saying no to lennon and levein

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,090 ✭✭✭eire4

Well it's St Mirren away next up now that thankfully the international break is over. I imagine with Brown out we will see Ledley back in the starting lineup Saturday. Lets hope the rest of our players come back ok from their various internationals so we can put out a strong team. I think judging from Lennon's recent Izzy comments on his long distance travels he may be rested as well so Mulgrew likely at left back I think.

ledley matthews and mulgrew can easily drop into lb and do a good job tbh, filip twardzik can play there if he wants to those 3 in their preferred positions. a grand headache to have!

Lennon rubbishes the notion that contract talks with Hooper have broken down.

You could tell at the time that it was gutter journalism because they were using a quote from lennon after the spartak game completely out of context and only days after lennon confirmed that talks with hooper and wanyama were ongoing.

Good call there with Twardzik as well. I forgot he can play there as well. Looks like Commons will be rested after playing both the Scotland games. Will be interesting to see what the lineup is come Saturday. Hopefully though the players have their heads focused properly unlike the St Johnstone debacle after the last international break.

Today's Celtic team to play St Mirren:

CELTIC (4-4-2) Forster; Matthews, Wilson, Ambrose, Mulgrew; Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley, Lassad; Watt, Hooper

Subs: Zaluska, Izaguirre, Miku, McCourt, Rogne, Ibrahim, Lustig

Suprised to see Lustig dropped tbh, unless its a fitness issue he's deserves to start whilst playing like he is. Mulgrew at LB as predicited eire4! Very interesting midfield choice would like to think its more of a 4-3-3 today, wanted to see this combo in a competitive match for a while now and glad to see Watt start and get a good look at Lassad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

Not that I'm glad to see Lustig dropped, am delighted to see Adam Matthews in. This is going to be a tough game here today, hopefully the lads stepping up are ready for the battle

Watt was unlucky there, nearly made a goal out of nothing!

    EDIT

LOL, I step out for a 2nd time and I miss the 2nd goal!!
