Even the "hun media" are playing the victim card protecting the celtic fans.

Not to mention ridiculous headlines from the sun ""28 SCOTS arrested", the club would be named if it was us.

At least Sky Sports have had the balls to say you made an arse of yourselves with the police and give the club a bad name.

Thats the difference, we condemn our fans for the trouble we cause, quite regularly, not the other way around. That carpet must be like a speed bump right now.

    Hahahaaha jesus christ. Some post.

Not sure why you're bringing Rangers into this. I smell a troll.

So what really did happen then? And where did the sectarian banners come out of?!

In fairness there haven't been any Rangers fans arrested in Europe this season. Another world record for them perhaps?

The dutch police has mishandled this spectacularly. A group of Dutch casuals attack Celtic fans in the square. A little while later, another group of people dressed like casuals started picking off and assaulting Celtic fans. The Celtic fans responded and battered them. Turns out the people assaulting Celtic fans were undercover Dutch policemen

    Celtic Football Club Statement

By: Newsroom Staff on 07 Nov, 2013 18:07

CELTIC Football Club is currently investigating events in Amsterdam last night (Wednesday).

We have been informed that there are five individuals detained in Holland. We are not clear if they have any formal association with the Club, however, we will be liaising with the local authorities in Amsterdam, our own police and the British Consulate in order to fully understand events. We would stress that there is no excuse for any form of violent conduct.

In addition, we have received numerous complaints from Celtic supporters in relation to their treatment in Amsterdam, which we will also investigate fully.

There is no question that Celtic supporters have been subjected to a high degree of provocation. Last week, our supporters were the target of missiles being thrown from Ajax supporters at Celtic Park, a night where 300 seats were damaged within the stadium.

This was followed up by an organised attack on a group of Celtic supporters in Amsterdam on Tuesday, the night before the match. We have also received numerous individual reports of other attacks on our fans.

The Celtic travelling support has a magnificent reputation across Europe and our fans have visited major European cities over many years without incident. Once again the overwhelming majority of our supporters behaved impeccably.

A really good pal was at the game.

He said Ajax casuals and Zagreb casuals caused alot of the bother in the sq beforehand. Cops arrested loads. Apparently Ajax fans took exception to Palestine flags at Parkhead as they are a Jewish club??? Never heard that before.

He left the match at half time and back to the hotel as they were getting so much grief. Getting pi88ed on etc.

Getting pissed on from the roof then ? Because away fans in the ArenA are in the top tier :pac:

Maybe your pal just never left the Wallen and is ashamed to admit it :p

Is this the same police man running into a pole later on when the Celtic fans decide enough is enough?

It's amusing how some of the people who preach to Celtic fans when they come onto the Rangers thread after such "incidents" that they are trolling etc. are..... erm.... doing exactly what they give out about themselves.

    I miss you guys! :P

What was the big fuss anyway, did the tv stop working? Our rangers friends might be more understanding if that's what happened

"Apparently Ajax fans took exception to Palestine flags at Parkhead as they are a Jewish club???" How does that explain them running riot in Glasgow the night before the game and down the gallowgate before the game?

The Celtic fans were in the top tier surrounded by the family section of the Ajax fans, and there was loads of Celtic fans in the home end with no trouble inside the ground.

The only Ajax fans fighting were the section F behind the goals

I dont know about the 'Jewish' connection. And why there was Zagreb fans ive no idea.

If you dont believe him/me regarding the other nonsense fair enough. I wasnt at it. But i have being to dozens and dozens of games with him and know him since secondary school.

The Daily Ranger prints a predictably balanced account of things.

The husband was there (not in the square), when he phoned just after the game he knew almost nothing about the 'riot', just that some fans had been attacked(you can see thats true if you want to look on Youtube) but as usual our blue brethern on here like to rub it in - as we do when their fans misbehave(btw not all our fans behaved well). All in all though it could have been much worse(6 fans out of 12,500 arrested - get it in proportion and move on). I'm just glad my people who went out there to enjoy a game of football and a bit of conversation, a drink or two with the locals made it home safe and well(if a bit knackered).

I think Ajax hooligans are owed an apology in fairness, seems most of the violence was coming from their police force. At least that's one thing consistent across the world. 1312

Talking to a lad from up home who was at the game and he said they got awful abuse just walking from pub to pub before the game but no violence until they were going into the ground, where one of them was hit on the head with a glass bottle (no cuts but a huge lump on the back of his head). In the stadium he said there were no issues apart from some very nasty banners and singing. After the game they had a few pints and when heading home got chased by a group of 15-20 people. Luckily enough they manged to get in a taxi. Not a very exciting story but still enough to sour their/my view of Ajax/Amsterdam in general.

It begs the question why their fans went on the rampage really. There is no previous between the two clubs or countries. Our fans have never been anti-semetic, we've had three Israelis play for us in the past couple of years (one served in the IDF). Surely the Palestine stuff didn't noise them up that badly? Then again that sort of intolerance wouldn't exactly be surprising amongst those types would it
