Loads of people have to live away from home whilst working. I done 6 months living in Manchester and commuting weekly back home to Glasgow by car, my 2 sons were aged 3 & 6. If I was on Wilsons money, you could fly 2-3 times a week from Glasgow to East Midlands Airport and get a taxi from there or move your family up to some very nice accommodation. Next week I am 3 days in London!

I don't get the Wilson thing. He has a daughter in Nottingham, so what. It's not like he's on an average industrial wage, his family should move around with him while he plays professional football. He's going back to play for Nottingham Forest, is that the only club he can play for? Anyway each to their own, he better have his head on his game tonight.

The single most crucial match since the corresponding away fixture in the 3rd Qualifying Round v HJK Helsinki last season. Win and we're guaranteed some form of European football, lose and we get nowt. Celtic went into that 2nd game v HJK 2-1 up and won the away leg 2-0. Hopefully a similar result tonight. Hopefully he'll play Stokes up front with Samaras on the left, there's no need to be overly cautious v Elfsborg. We should go over there looking to score goals to wrap the tie up.

If we lose dont we go into the Europa play off round?

That is correct, loosing tonight would see us drop into the 4th qualifying round in the EL. Winning tonight guarantees that we participate in the group stages of the Europa League at least.

Maybe I'm wrong, I was under the impression that it was the case last season that if we lost at this stage we'd be out of Europe for the season entirely, has that changed since last season?

Anyway still a crucial game tonight, should have enough to get through once we perform fairly well.

Disappointing to see Wilson leave but I'd be hopeful we can find a decent replacement. I'm not sure if it's true but I heard he is no longer with the mother of his child so the option to move his family to Glasgow isn't a runner.

I'd be worried about him playing tonight if he is picked, he has been pretty shakey so far this season and his head is obviously not 100% on the game so I think I'd prefer going with Mulgrew and Ambrose.

No, losing to Helsinki would have dropped us into the 4th round of the EL qualifiers. The qualifier format for both competitions is the same as last year.

Very much a crucial game as the UCL offers far more money than the EL but at least winning it guarantees some form of European Competition and the season budgets will be adjusted accordingly meaning Lennon can sign more expensive targets if need be.

I think we'll cruise it tbh, they have to come at us and we counter attack very well. The biggest worry is how focused Ambrose & Wilson will be at the back. I can see Mulgrew starting with one of them dropped tonight tbh.

Mulgrew should play CB for one or other of those two anyway. What I hope wont happen is that Lenny plays Mulgrew on the left of midfield and plays Samaras as a lone striker dropping Stokes. There's no need for that, and Samaras is much better on the left than as a lone striker anyways. Stokes is actually fairly good as a lone striker when asked to play that role, did well away against Rennes I think it was, a couple of season back in that role.

Celtic team to play Elfsborg in tonight's UEFA Champions League third round qualifier second-leg:

CELTIC (4-4-1-1) Forster; Lustig, Ambrose, Wilson, Izaguirre; Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Mulgrew; Commons; Samaras

Subs: Zaluska, Matthews, Stokes, Balde, Mouyokolo, Watt, Kayal

Happy enough, hope Lennon has made the correct calls

For the free kick there he was making the most of it. I've no problem with him playing his best but play acting like that and last week, you have to question how smart the guy is.

Wilson is playing well so far, as is Forrest.

FFS, good save by their keeper!

Poor Corner yet again!! Gotta sort that out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,529 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Celtic seem to be struggling badly with the pitch, cant control possession at all.

Bangura is really coming into the game now.

Whole lot of nothing happening. Suits Celtic grand
