    What strengths are these?

He only scored one headed goal in France last season.

If he was a better convertor of chances, we wouldn't be worrying about our style of play.

He had two good chances last night, the first was in the first ten minutes when he shot into the side netting and should have done much better.

The second was a lovely touch to him from Jack (I think) that instead of putting the laces through or bursting forward with it, he looked around, and delayed, and was intercepted.

Against City, he had a good header that he blazed over the bar.

He's a reasonable striker, no more, no less. He's probably about the level of Sturridge, TBH.

Very harsh assessment considering he has only played half a season in the EPL.

I actually like his movement alot. He has a good touch and seems to have a good footballing brain.

His downsides seem to be that he doesn't win and hold onto the ball as well as he should for a front man, plus his chance:goal conversion needs to go up.

However, as mentioned by another poster, 9 goals + 9 assists is more than decent at this stage.

On the topic of Giroud, I think he looks so much better when our AM gets close to him. His best performances this year have been when Santi has been in and around him consistently in a game. When he is more isolated he can look lost. We saw a glimpse of this the other night too in the second half when Jack was making those dribbles/runs in advanced positions.

We have to stop putting ourselves through this.

Why must we torture ourselves like this?!

I'd be very happy if we picked up Fellaini this January

He would be a brilliant signing. Very consistent and has a presence.

Is it just me or is there a lot more to be fixed than one high profile signing

No your spot on with what your saying but i definitely think a big signing would give the team a huge psychological boost and the fans too alike!

I'd like to see 2 up front with Giroud as a target man. His knock downs and flick ons to Podolski could be devastating.
If only we'd play Podolski as a CF...

Yeh I don't get Wenger's reluctance to play Podolski up top he's the most clinical finisher we have, plus looking at how he did at Cologne last year you have to think that is his strongest position.

Wenger quotes surfacing saying that he doesn't want to talk about Cavani as no bid has been made and that he prefers to do his shopping in the Summer :(

Does anybody know has Frimpong been selected for the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations?

Dont like the way Wenger taunts the fans in these transfer windows. On the other it would be very foolish to believe a word he says, he keeps his real opinions to himself mostly. The fact people are going mad over an absolutely nothing link says it all. There is no way Cavani is coming to us and definitely not now.

I don't think so, the squads are on wiki and I dont see him there anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Africa_Cup_of_Nations_squads#Ghana

Personally I dont believe we will sign anyone of note barring possibly Zaha althought United appear to be frontrunners there. Hes just an unproven kid and a meh signing. Just being realistic, we've been let down in most transfer windows in the past.

So, any chance @GeoffArsenal is just seeking attention or trolling??

30 million? Sounds to me like the cost of Walcott's new 5 year deal plus signing on fee.

    most likely he is.

    Cavani is a pipe dream.

I think Diame is a bit more solid though

Is Diame not injured for another month or so though ?

Why would we spend big money on Diame when we wouldn't take him for free six months ago?

Wenger is the troll of trolls.how he continusly does this is remarkable...

He would only cost 3.5m well worth a punt

Think it's more of a problem we have no one to play left midfield
Now for the short while that diaby is fit and santi out wide I think we might see podolski get his chance

He's only signing for 3.5 - same problem in 2 years

Bookies have us as favourites at 5/2 to sign him before Feb 1st.

I know it's baloney, but it would be bloody nice!

    :D

    It's 13/8 now :pac:

Really doubt he's trolling. Always gave good info on twitter RE Arsenal. He also stated that it wasn't Theos deal & that Theos deal has be done for about a week (club stalling announcement for some reason).

No idea who the player we're offering that money for is, but highly doubt it'd happen for some reason.

Someone needs to load up football manager and come back with a list of everyone rated in excess of £20m. We can start norrowing it down then :pac:

El-Sharaaway? Wasn't Wenger banging on about him a few months back?
