But some people can't even stream a film on netflix, surely that's a massive (first world) problem, worthy of being tackled by a senator

Yes. And definitely worthy of being compared to flipping apartheid.

Just goes to show that FHE lives in a parallel universe.

Well the broadband speed in Maree does suck. So at least she has some facts right this time.

Going on her track record of not willing to pay for things (car tax, builders, train tickets etc) she is probably hooking into her neighbours wifi.

Could her poor broadband speeds actually just be just poor Wiffy or congestion from the young'uns using their infernal Xbox more than the chip she proposed would allow them too?

This piece in the Tribune has reminded me that there will be no Mother's Day this year, on account of gay marriage. Hallmark have issued a profit warning as a result and thousands of jobs in the petrol station bunch of flowers industry have been lost. I hope you're all happy now.

    Hashtag pee-cee gone mad.

If she gets elected then people need to hang their head in shame

Meh, just a "humorous" opinion piece by Dara Bradley.
Probably by assembling bits and bobs from this very thread.

A reminder to voters that she's a buffoon

The #sexualorientation tag was much funnier.

She did get very close to being elected in 2011

btw she has now launched a campaign about the road Ballinrobe-Cornamona.

One distinguished resident of that area, É Ó'Cuív must be very pleased that she is riding to the rescue of his local infrastructure

The scary part is that she'll gain more voters than she's lost in the redrawn boundaries.

Just if anyone's interested, her constituency office in Oranmore is having a launch on Monday from 5.30-6.30...

It's not scary in the slightest. She almost got elected in 2011, but that was a different time altogether.

She's made a ridicule of herself in the national eye innumerable times since then, she didn't get elected when FG were as popular as they will ever be, and she no longer has the FG transfer like before.

    She won't get elected.

we would want any further attention brought upon the trolls of the internet reaching the doors steps of the Seanad Éireann, fraping was already done.

can you imagine more government controls on the internet with this <person>, thats if they could even close the loopholes.

then again there is worse out there.

As we are getting close to an election and her army of canvassers are knocking on doors already so i think it's important we reflect on the ethics of this woman in case she actually gets elected (breaking a long streak of rejections by the people of galway)

    - prefers not to pay her car tax - day in court after car impounded
    - prefers not to pay for train tickets despite getting unvouched expenses allowances from her government job to do so - received a fine from Irish rail
    - prefers not to pay builders for work carried out on her house - ordered by court to pay
    - has no issue with taking a very highly paid Seanad job despite being rejected by the people multiple times, only receiving this job because she was a Fine Gael member, ie a crony role where she becomes a laughing stock / embarrassment of the country by putting her foot in it multiple times
    - she then leaves Fine Gael but won't vacate her job (gravy train) which she only got because she was a member of Fine Gael!
    - had no problem accepting pointless all expenses paid international trips where she brings family members (fully paid for) and turns them into holidays
    - has no problem claiming €3600 in unvouched expenses per month, one of the highest claims for any senator, which is on top of her salary and pension entitlements

All of the above from a quick google

You forgot accidentally building a two storey garage which had been denied planning permission.

Well either way shes outta job come the election wiith no Blueshirt help to get her nominated into the seanad.
She wont win a seat and has no way back into the seanad. Game over thankfully.

But--but didn't a builder throw that up by accident when she was away on a well earned holiday?:)

She has started a campaign to improve the Ballinrobe/Clonbur road.

Perhaps one of the grateful residents of that area, name of Ó'Cuív, will reciprocate by sending some of his no 2s her way?

Or is this the opening move in a campaign to have Fianna Fáil join her?

She has opened an election office in Oranmore this evening...she has adopted "Roads" as her area of electioneering. Posters on Renmore/ Dublin rd going on about Bus Corridors....blah blah!!
Yet, Oranmore (her own turf) traffic is a fecking disaster

They're skimming around the edges of the laws with these posters...They're all having 'public' meetings on bull**** subjects.. using big posters and billboards.

She had all her posters up in Oranmore overnight, thus breaking more laws. These posters are massive too.

Surely this should be in the county section section since she not running in the city?

    Where is Galway indeed.

She is running in the Dail constituency of Galway west / south Mayo which includes the entirety of Galway city.

Sorry guys, we've all been doing her a disservice. I see on her posters that it is DR. Fidelma Healy-Eames these days.

How rude of us to treat the good doctor in such a manner.

    Dr. Eames, medicine woman

I too noticed on her new posters that she now has a doctorate.
Can anyone tell me what she is a doctor of?
    Is it a real doctorate?
