They were right, Uchimura DID dismount, just wonky so they took it as a fall and took off a point. A point makes a massive difference. Wasn't sure myself but went back and watched, they were right to appeal. It's amazing GB medalled at all, dissapointed for them but absolutely gutted for Ukraine. This is the judges fault, not Japan's.

Ha just switched over to the fencing lads. More drama. Announcement that Korea have to pay money (yes you read correct!!!) to make an appeal. What a bizarre thing to announce out loud. Crowd don't like it.

Fair enough :-) I'm no expert on gymnastics but the judges shouldn't have made such a huge mistake to begin with - true, at least the Brits still get a medal unlike Ukraine :-( that's a bit annoying for them to say the least

She's not giving in though and seems to have the support of the crowd!

edit: She's gone. The head of the international fencing federation gently persuaded her to leave the stage. I feel really sorry for her... I think she had a case for disputing the result.

She was drawing against a German in the last second of the sudden death round, and had it been a tie at the end she would have won. After the timer reached zero, the referee/timekeeper decided to add another second onto the clock and the German got the winning contact.

The last second of the contest lasted for about 5 seconds rather than the actual one sec it should have been!

She swam her last 50m faster than Ryan Lochte, for a 16 year old like. That's incredible.

The fencing is back on now for anyone interested. Your one that just lost against the German is up against a Chinese woman for the bronze medal.

It is pretty unbelievable. No doubt, the girl has talent but doing a faster split than Lochte. If a girl had a faster 10 second over the course of a hundred metre s than Usain Bolt. Serious questions would be asked.
