That's an awful shame considering the amount of money and effort that was put into this international sporting event.

One would think that if they dropped the price a bit they might be able to get rid of a lot more of them. :p

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/700000-olympics-tickets-unsold-7953201.html

Poland and the Ukraine had loads of unsold seats for the European Championships, still considered a success. It isn't all about bums on seats or profit!

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

    Something going on in London?

    Israel fears new Munich massacre.
Mossad believes the bombing of a Bulgarian bus was a precursor to an attack on the London Games, writes Uzi Mahnaimi in Tel Aviv
ISRAELI agents fearing an “anniversary attack” on Israel’s athletes at the Olympic Games in London are hunting Iranian-backed terrorists in Europe.

It is 40 years since Palestinian radicals crept into the Olympic village in Munich in an audacious operation that ended in the deaths of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches, a German policeman and five of the eight attackers.

Now intelligence analysts in Tel Aviv fear the Iranians are back in the terrorist game in Europe and may be aiming to pull off a spectacular act of reprisal in the eye-for-an-eye war over their nuclear weapons programme.

The alert sounded for the security services last week when Israeli tourists were ambushed and killed by a bomber in the resort of Burgas in Bulgaria, the first attack of its kind in that country.

...Mossad has detected almost every terrorist plot by its foes — the last one in Cyprus only a few days earlier. Since May 2011 it has prevented more than 20 attacks, almost two a month. Yet there was not a shred of warning about the Bulgarian bomb. “We smelt that something was going on, but we didn’t know how to put it into context,” said a senior security source.

The Israelis became convinced it was part of a bigger plan — and they suspected the target was the London Games.

It could be something - I hope it really comes to nothing.

Whilst alot of those tickets are for the footballing events, its also one of the biggest selling events. as the football is a knock out event after the first round I would imagine more would be sold then.

Alot of tickets have only just gone on sale as well, following returns of tickets that had already been bought, and from international sales. Don't forget those figures also probably include the Paralympics.

Like everything else, differnet media outlets will give slants on the story. This event will be far from a shame.

There's a very real possibility of a terrorist attack at the olympics, this is the most high profile olympics we've ever seen.
As regards to what the Israeli's are saying it's only another attempt at making the world feel sorry for them, they'd probably go as far as staging a terrorist attack.
I wouldn't like to be living in London at the moment.

No one in their right mind should attend these games, and people should avoid the city Ctr.

We could also see absenteeism among military presence after G4l back down, some say staff at G4l security got wind of 200.000 plastic coffins discovered in a warehouse.

my brothers ex is attending and she has been warned.

Did i say i think it would happen? NO
But i am open minded, anything can happen

There's a huge difference between someone who looks at the 2 sides of the coin and someone who is biased like yourself.

Fellows was also informed that 200,000 casket linings that can hold four dead bodies each have been shipped into London in preparation for the Games.

Have I just stepped into the conspiracy theroy forum? Yes there more than likely is a risk, but the terorist attack level is probably no higher than what it was after 9/11, 7/7, or when the IRA brought the troubles to London.

You in previous posts stated that you believe Obama is the anti christ and that Jay Z and Rihanna are in the illuminati/ freemasons, worship satan and spreads the word through their music and videos.

    Goodnight.

When you get Israel intelligence warning us about something and then then being told that London is within range of Iranian missiles its time to be vigilant.

Disagreed, As it's London and an international event there's a significantly higher risk but enough intelligence and security would sort that out.

As for the coffins, pics or GTFO

Of course (sadly) they have to plan for such things.
I hope the games instead though bring much needed fun and money into the pockets of Londoners and others instead with little hassle whatsoever.

I provide the following ONLY for showing that some eventualities have been planned for.

Do you, or do you not, believe Mossad?

Did they, or did they not, bring down the towers?

You seem to change your conspiracy leanings more often than I change my socks.

Again- how are people meant to take someone who believes Jay Z and Rihanna are satanic illuminati freemasons seriously?

Emergency body storage is done in body bags, not plastic coffins.

You are honestly taking the piss by now.

I agree with you, the only reason the coffins are there is for any eventuality that may arise.

Your vigilant about suspicious person or items left unatended, any person traveling on the underground, other transport systems, or the venues can do that. The ordinary commuter and persons attending the games can do sweet FA about long range missiles, thats down to the security services at the goverment.

London was a risk after 9/11, 7/7 was in London, and there was many security alerts during the 90 from the IRA that never made the news. Granted there's a risk due to the nature of the event and aniversey of Munich, but to suggest that people should not attend the games is crazy talk.

I'm pretty sure London already has emergency plans in place for a dirty bomb etc. As I'm sure Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid do.

I was in Windsor last week where the rowing is being held and you can almost feel the anticipation there.

Everything has been painted, polished, weeded, pruned or jet washed. Every lampost has a flag or banner on it. It all looks great. It's brilliant.

    True.
As unfortunately people have found out in the past, all it takes is one scare (be it even false) and people start to run, trample each other and sadly there are injuries/deaths.
This has happened in the past in Europe and at religious festivals in some Arab states.
The planning for such eventualities unfortunately has to be looked into even if it (hopefully) comes to nothing.

    To be sure.
A triage system will have been long thought up and planned for.
Its just a case of if it would go as smoothly as according to the way it should.

If I wanted a snooze I would watch the antiques roadshow. Instead, I read the last two pages of this thread.

    My favourite sports to watch will be - in no particular order;
    • Diving
    • Weightlifting
    • Track and field
    • Swimming
    • Gymnastics
    • Shooting
    • Rowing

One event I don't get the point of is walking. Weirdest event ever :D
