I love watching the Olympics mainly to see if new records will be set. Not gonna happen in the majority of track and field events.

I'm old enough to remember seeing Jarmila Kratochvilova, Marita Koch et al on TV. Their records still stand 20 odd years on.

Yup, old Jarmila was amazing alright. Came from nowhere at the age of 32 to set records left right and centre, Michelle Smith de Bruin style.

I won't watch the Olympic mens football I don't regard it as an Olympic event, women's yes because they are all amateurs, I have the same attitude to the tennis.
