Just seen that the Cork diners seem to be named Rockin Joes now
Limerick City one is changed as well. Dunno about the one in the Crescent

All three Limerick have changed as there were all owned by the same fella.

Presume he owns the ones in Cork, too

According to a staff member that we spoke to Fri eve - He owns 11. And all of those are now Rocking Joes. The sauces and dips are all obviously different suppliers, and you could tell. The blue cheese dip with the wings ain't nice at all... And that's putting it mildly

Burger buns are now over coated floury baps... I looked like scarface after one bite.

    Pity...

Why change the name tho? The Eddie Rockets brand is so built up.

The owner of the Rockin' Joe's stores had to change the name following a dispute with Eddie Rockets. According to the thread in the Waterford forum, he couldn't afford the franchise fees due to the fire that gutted the Waterford outlet.

    Overpriced, messy, small portions...

Why on Earth does anyone eat there?

I have noticed the burger size and protion size overall has gone down in recent years, while the price for what I want to eat has gone up

Sorry to drag up an old thread but when did Eddie Rockets stop serving hot dogs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,176 ✭✭✭✭ILoveYourVibes

    My mother loves that place.

I think its awful. She loved captain America's too.

It's too expensive for what it is, but I have no problem with the food. That said, I can't think of many places I wouldn't eat. I'm a human dumpster. Loved the chilli dogs, but it's probably 20 years since I've had one.

Family meal deal is not the worst

    2 adults meals
    2 kids meals

    €32 I think.

Their food is reasonably tasty, leaves you full, and for table service, is reasonably priced.

Not sure what people are expecting from a burger joint.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,198 ✭✭✭POKERKING

Food is lovely but price has escalated ridiculously in the past few years. Family deal is about the only reasonable prices thing but its still 32e for four burgers!

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,306 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

For as long as I’ve been aware of “empty pockets” ppl have complained of their high prices yet they are still doing good business

It's not though. It's 32 for the burgers four chips and 4 drinks.

Not sure. Think I had a hot dog there earlier this year. My guess is, as part of the "Covid 19 delivery-only" model, they may have streamlined their menu. I know a few other places have done that (social distancing in the kitchen/some food travels better than others etc).

    Deep fried everything.

Unky Moe's Feedbag springs to mind.
