    Correct. Airship Italia commanded by Umberto Nobile. Amundsen lost his life in the search ( ultimately successful ) despite being not on speaking terms with Nobile at the time.

    Don't know if I should attempt this since donegalman is up. Anyway, I think it's LA 1932, 400m hurdles. Bob Tisdall took the gold medal but knocked a hurdle, and according to the rules at the time he then couldn't claim any record.
