This is how close I got for an albatross or double eagle as the yanks say on the 12th in Corballis. I genuinely thought it was in and resting against the flag!!

    Mount Wolseley from yesterday:

The par three 9th, green to tee (sneaky bunkers behind the green!)

(and if you look at my Flickr album for Mount Wolseley you might recognise a couple of Boardsies from the society outing there a few years ago)

Used to like that course but the guy in the pro shop has been a knob last few times we've bumped into him and the greens are just too big, also I feel very closed in now that the trees have been allowed grow with bushes at ground level, shame

Definitely agree with you on the bushes comment and yes, trees are tight in places. I think the mounding is overdone, too, noticeably on the par fives. Course is in great shape but it has always been a tough round of golf

Great photos Kevin. I was in Fota Island over the weekend and it was stunning - big brown leaves swirling around the course. No camera though!

Looks in great nick! played it the first weekend of Aug an it seemed a little rough around the edges. I live in Perth, and its only when here you realise how spectacular our courses are at home. Also, how accessible they are. Any man can play any course if he pays the money. Over here some courses are so snobby they flat out ban green fee players.

You're not the first to say it was a bit rough around the edges... but there's been a lot of work in recent months removing silt from lakes, tidying up flowerbeds and tee boxes and replacing all of the bunker sand. It was all good when I played it!

Played this over Christmas at La Reunion is Guatamala, built on the side of a volcano, that spews ash every couple of hours:eek:. Class course with greens like lightening, big elevation changes and high altitude had ball flying a mile:D!!!
