Congrats to Bear Down on winning Season 1. Regular season record was unlucky as you were top points scorer but came through in the end.

As promised, and sorry for the delay, breakdown of every teams points between offense and defense.








And while I was going through box scores anyway, noted how many players left positions empty week-to-week (this is only for 7 weeks where there byes, and does not coun injured players, only bye week players).
Kind of goes hand-in-hand with the transaction counter on league website to see how active everyone was.

Thanks for all that info Rob, huge help. Interesting I had the best offense - shows me where I need to focus on in the draft ! Shocking I left 5 spots without active players though...

What does everyone think about the two inactive teams?

CTM declined a trade from me like three weeks ago and I'm fairly sure he added a QB since then. Having that many empty spots is bad form, but I don't think it's enough to boot him. Looking back through his games there seems to be a pretty long streak where he left in bye players but his activity log show something for every month except October.

This actually reminds me of something I meant to bring up earlier. I think we should have some kind of a constitution for next year. Just basic rules like no tanking for draft position and that you have to make a reasonable effort to be active. If your not active for x amount of weeks you can be booted or some other punishment.

JaMarcus Hustle hasn't posted on boards in ages and his account says it's awaiting email confirmation (I don't think he has a new account?). In the activity thread I don't think the he was listed as inactive in div 1 (at least the two teams that were didn't sound like they'd be his), maybe eagle eye or anybody that's in Div 1 can check that. If he doesn't post here then I don't think we really have a choice but to give his team away, you could try emailing him as well. It's actually a decent team so it shouldn't be too hard to find somebody to take over.

He was active in division 1 from what I remember, made lineup changes when playing me anyway.

Would definitely be in favour of a constitution for the league, especially as it is a keeper league.

think putting in the format of the league as it is into it, and getting suggestions from everyone, then can vote on what to include/exclude from it.

Never realised i was top scorer as i barely scraped into the playoffs. Had to win the last 3 weeks to get in and lucky i was in the worse division. Delighted i won this one and the IDP league considering my relegation from the premier and my semi final collapse in the PPR league

Definitely a good idea to set out some rules for team owners, I'll be happy enough as long as all the team owners are active in time for the rookie/FA draft - even if it's the current owners come back and post here they'll be active, easier once we have the basic rules set out.

I picked up Jake Ballard about a week and a half ago. I wasn't quite sure what the deal was with FAs before the draft, obviously it could be a bigger move now then it was then.

There's a few options that I can think of:

1. We go with a rookie/fa draft which was what the link in the OP suggested. If we go with this I drop Ballard and the waiver is locked until after the draft.

2. We just have a rookie draft and leave the waiver open during the off season.

3. We could have a rookie draft and a separate FA draft.

I'd probably lean towards a FA/rookie draft. It was probably what people had in mind when the league started.

We also need to pick a date for the draft and decide on how many round it will be. I'd like to get it out of the way before any of the other leagues have their draft. Like July?

I've read about some leagues expanding the roster before the draft and then cutting it down before the start of the league. This shouldn't be as important if we go with keeping 25/30 players, but a few extra spots would help trading draft picks.

I assumed rosters were locked until the draft.

Happy with rookie/FA draft.
Should only need 5 rounds, as we can keep 25 out of 30 players

Hi guys, just back from holidays.

Seems the 2 players dropping have 2 guys ready to take over, which is great. Correct me if I'm wrong but Tristram would be next in line should anyone else not continue. As for the draft ideas discussed, please give opinions - I'm open to what the majority want and we can take it from there

First off i would get confirmations that we have 12 players. Maybe set a poll in the league site asking are you playing and once we have 12 yes votes we are good to go.

Next is the draft. My personal preference is to restrict it to rookies (maybe 5 rounds = 60 rookies). Veterans can be acquired after the draft using the Free Agent Auction system we have in place. At the moment roster is at 30 with keepers set for 25. That means we need to all cut 5 players before we draft. Another personal preference of mine is to have a long offline draft. It will be hard to get everyone online at same time for a live draft and the rookie draft is very important for a dynasty league. Also im not sure how many of us have dealt with rookie drafts and might put pressure on people to select in 90 seconds. An offline draft shouldnt take much longer than a week so aim to start it in early august to get it out of the way before the rest of the boards drafts

Either way UCD, would it be possible to assign the new teams now. Just wana have a look at whatever team I get to prepare my needs and targets.

Do the new players want their teams assigned at random or first choice to the player who posted first here

Don't mind we'd be choosing blind either way not knowing who's teams have what I'd be happy with whatever you felt was best.

Im inclined to assign each team a random number and let each of ye pick the number. Gonna wait until i get confirmation from the other two before i do it. Currently the open teams have the 1st, 3rd, 5ft and 9th pick in the rookie draft so that should give an idea (no idea what players are in which team)

Sh1t happens to be fair. Most sign up with good intentions but a lot happens in 12 months and not everyone can dedicate the time needed for it. Better to find active replacements for those who can't put the time in anymore. It could be worse some of us could have said nothing and missed week after week and the standard in the league goes to sh1t.

I can understand that, if I had to cut back on fantasy I'd give preference to keeper/dynasty leagues because I made a commitment to the format but I guess that's more personal choice. I just think it's bad form to take a pass because your team is bad, or you don't like the format on ESPN (lol), you don't like IDP or some other crappy reason.

Id normally do the same but as I move to the US right when the season starts I will barely have time to go near it. I prioritised with leagues I have been in longest or leagues I pay to play in.

Really comes down to, to each their own sometimes. Some give it a try having never doing it before and end up losing interest in a format. Have seen it happen more than once over the years.

One of the paid leagues I am in is a keeper and out of the 12 original members only 7 of us remain in 10 seasons.

Well for you what may be a "crappy reason" is a perfectly valid reason for someone else.

When deciding on leagues for this year I decided I wanted to only be in leagues I could dedicate the time to. I was in 8 or 9 leagues last year so wanted to cut back to 3 or 4 max.

I personally haven't enjoyed IDP but the main reason is that I haven't particularly enjoyed this league, not much banter went on and little to no trading. I don't really know anyone in the league so it may as well have been a random league.

I don't feel I should continue with the league to keep others happy so as long as there are people looking to get involved I think it's much better to have someone who is very interested in the league and can dedicate the time rather than someone like me who would be just going through the motions for another season.

If there was noone else looking to get involved I wouldn't have a problem managing the team rather than leaving it idle, but feel it's much better to give it to one of the lads looking to get involved.

Ok i got a reply from mayordenis and he's in for this year that means the next step is to assign the four teams to their new owners. The teams are

Lomira Lions/Slinger Owls (Ninth pick in rookie draft)
Team 4thandforever (Fifth pick in rookie draft)
Oh Look An Eagle (Third pick in rookie draft)
Dunluce Demons (First pick in rookie draft)

I've assigned each of these a number between 1 and 4. The new owners of gufc21, taidghbaby, tristram and padraig f will choose a number and they will be assigned a team accordingly. Once you have your team PM me your email address and i'll get you invited to the league
