When I was on holidays in New Zealand we planned on going shooting but couldn't get :( I was trying to see if it can be done here. I.e. turn up, pay 50 euro get 20 mins instruction and shoot targets on a range. Is it possible or even legal to do that? Where?

As far as I know day membership is not available any more.

dev is right, day membership isn't legal but there is a legal avenue for this

Sparks outlined specifics here

Never been to a range that operates like this myself but there are a few doing this I think.

what about the shooting club in roundwood, I think you can go shoot up there for the day, my friends a member and i've seen groups come in, heres their website, they can at least give you the low down about shooting or even refer you to a club/range in your area http://www.hilltopshootingsports.com/

What type of shooting are you interested in? This will determine the best range to go to.

Prefaribly targets with pistols.

Very few clubs, if any will let you use a pistol if you're not a member, it's mostly rifles/shotguns.

Sweet, thought Lazydog place was only clays, I'll keep an eye on that website, there was a mention of a future outdoor range. If it ever developed in the future as an authorized range/club with full time membership (and allowed supersonic as well as subsonic rimfire) it would be excellent for someplace local at only 40km +- away from Limerick City
