Lads has anybody tried changing the DPI on the stock ICS 4.04?

I have rooted the phone but must stick with the Stock Rom for a while so installing a custom ROM isn't an option currently.

I`ve never came across stock with MDPI, only on Slim or Insanity.

I have to say I`m not missing Slim or MDPI, Omega is excellent.

What is the benefit of changing this mate??

Well the lower the DPI and the higher the rows/columns in your launcher, the more you`ll get onto your screen.

I use Nova Prime which facilitates the extra rows rows alright. Its just im used to Slim on thr SGS which allowed me change LCD density to 240 I think it was.
I love the 3, but would like to reduce everything down.
    Thanks for the replies.

7X7 is OK, but when I was on LLP that had 10X10, which gave you more space to move crap around, what ever happened to the dev...

Can you get into download mode with the 3 button press
    To Enter Download Mode

Switch your phone off. To confirm Remove the Battery.
Now Press and HOLD the following Keys in the same order: First Volume Down, Second Home Key, and Lastly The Power Button.
Keep the Buttons Held until you see the phone Light up, then Let go off the power button, but keep the Volume and Home Keys Pressed.
Once you see a Droid digging and the Test "DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE TARGET", Let go off all the buttons.

Try home+power+volume up to get into recovery mode. See if you can wipe/factory reset from here.

I flashed any old stock ROM when sending it back.....just made sure it was an English one, he he. And used Triangle away to reset the flash counter.

What is up with your phone anyhow?

    Cheers,

I flashed SuperNexus JellyBean Build 1 earlier. It's the Rom that continues on from the other Build 3 JB that was out that's no longer being developed.

I'm liking JB and am having no problems at all, everything seems to work. One of the issues I had when I flashed JB earlier was that the colour contrast was all wrong, but I've changed the screen mode to natural in the SGS3 Settings app and it looks much better (maybe this was there earlier). Google Now is working fine.

Edit: I have now also flashed the Siyah kernel for the S3, supposedly it's smoother and gives longer battery life

Doesn't seem to be a memory leak with the Siyah kernel. I'm not encountering any bugs, seems fine to me. Build 2 was supposed to be out yesterday but got delayed, hopefully today.

I was running Resurrection Remix and feel it's much better than SuperNexus as you get all the toggles etc. like you get in AOKP. Resurrection Remix was just updated last night. It's a cool blend of AOKP and CMod!

    Cheers,

That sounds nice. I'm missing my notification bar toggles and brightness slider. Might just flash it later. Any bugs?

Memory leak still there but if you do not enable the lock-screen you can get around it.
