You know, if someone posts something that is of no real interest, is dull, lacking in insight, cliched or just some kind of nothing throwaway comment and you then proceed to thank that comment - i do it sometimes and it amuses me greatly and i think more of us should do it

    for example

Poster A "I like eating fruits, especially apples"

    Thanks: Donfers

Happens when using the phone a bit, you can't unthanks it either.

Apples are alright, except when you get a granny smith that's been sitting out for too long and it's lost it's juiciness. Same goes for golden delicious.

    I don't know.

I thought I liked green apples, but I realised this week that the red ones are much better.

Not really. The part of my brain that governs those types of functions is taken up with my picking my nose or thinking about doing my laundry.

Anybody who thanks this is a child molester. Just saying.

Does anyone else find it a bit odd when guys scratch their balls (through their trousers, not through the lining of their pockets) when women are present?

Just wondering, no need for thanks.:D:)

Gwan, I'd like 2 free thanks while PF and Westendgirl are at it :p

I reckon we should invade another thread and give a random post our thanks. Nominations?

I'm going with this really insightful, thought provoking post.

I agree with Poster A. Apples are really nice. If I had an apple now I would eat it. I don't have an apple though. I might buy some apples in Tesco later. I'll buy some other things too. I'm not going to go to Tesco just to get apples. I'll definitely get some other stuff too. I hope I remember to get the apples because apples are really nice.

I like apples but only in slices. Course, that being as it is, I'm too lazy to actually slice it either, so I never eat them. All that changed when, one day, I came across this magnificent invention -this really high quality slicer that divides it into equal slices and takes out the core simultaneously. Now, I thought, I've no excuse to not eat apples anymore.

I think that was about 2008 and I haven't eaten an apple yet.

mega-lulz at the thanks invasion in the galway forum traffic thread. I'd say that'll cause some bafflement. Well played team.

I like to thank posts in the You Laugh You Lose thread if they feature a picture of a drunk person, regardless if they are funny or not.
When I was signing up I thought of choosing "Idiotic post" as my username and then thanking posts I didn't like, would probably have gotten me banned though.

Anyways...anyone who thanks this post has a tiny penis (even the girls).

the innocuous post made in the galway traffic forum has about 12 thanks now, it was a good idea, the only criticism i have is that it was a post from a few hours ago and the people reading the thread may not see the thanks, what we need is a quickfire, fast hit on a very recent innocuous post

This breathtaking review exploring the complexities and depth of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones intricate relationship in Men in Black 3 deserves recognition. Especially considering he joined just to write it.

We need a name. The Innocuous Strike Force? Dealing out recognition to those who hold the very fabric of boards together. Behind every great post likes ten innocuous ones, and their importance can never be underestimated...

Perhaps use the groups feature on boards?

We should campaign for our own forum. It would work like the 'Spammer Notification Thread' in feedback, where we respond rapidly and efficiently to reports of banal, innocuous posts across the site.
