Yeah but I'm a sucker for gran turismo. Will be giving it a good playthrough today anyway.

Grid 2 is really good. Much improved over the 1st grid game. I managed to get it for a fiver when the girl in hmv put it in the box instead of grid 1 :P

Ah, those girls in HMV, how I miss their judgement over a grown man buying video games, with their piercings and tatts aglow... Glob bless them...

That's room for 6 PCBs now, if I can fit the damn things in!

Fully wired to the max :)

Got them from this guy in the US. Postage makes it fairly expensive, but there really are no other options.

I've been looking at a Fixeight PCB over the last few days wondering whether or not to pull the trigger.

Sequel to Outzone. Not held in as high regard, but a Toaplan PCB for well under a ton isn't to be sniffed at :pac:

I've been looking into selling some arcade parts online, I can supply something very similar to these, they are about €10-15 each is memory serves me correctly

Ah come on Cidey, if anyone wanted to quote trawl we'd just show the posts where you said it's stupid to buy a next gen machine at the mo, & then the post where you're selling something to fund an Xbox One a weel later :p

I know, but wouldn't it be stranger if I didn't do that?
I had a blast on Kerbdogs Xbox One last night and I'm totally underwhelmed by it, the dashboard is a mess and the game I played, COD:Ghosts, defies identification as being a next-gen game, the whole thing left me feeling a bit m'eh.
I'm not sure if the experience on the PS4 is any better, but reports don't sound good, and they mirror experiences with previous consoles at launch, as predicted by most gamers with a sense of history.
Still want to get one of them, don't know why now, I know it'll just sit there, mocking me.
I'm selling a painting and a birthday is coming up and so, even if the GB Micro doesn't shift, I will still have gaming fundage earmarked for one of the new machines.
After last night I'm leaning towards the PS4, I won't be buying it for another few weeks so supply shouldn't be a problem then.

That pretty much sums it up. The PS4 isn't much better right now, but I think if you must have one of them, the PS4 seems the better choice at the mo. Like yourself, I'll no doubt end up having both of them in the games room at some point too. Oh this illness that is called being a collector, what is the cure :(:D

Got these this morning. A nice 'welcome back to work even though you worked over Christmas and New Year' parcel.

Should help kick the January blues... :)

    Action Gameside Vol. 2 (日本のパルプ)
Another top title from the cheeky cupcakes at Gameside. This one has a great feature about Umihara Kawarase plus other fun stuff!
    0114g.jpg

Raiden The Lightning Strikes Back Collection EX (G.S.M. CD)
More chunky buttockness from those handsome young pups at INH (well, it was their idea!). This is 4 discs of pure and unadultarated RAIDEN ACTION spanning pretty much every Raiden game AND some exclusive unreleased tracks and arrangements. Excellent value for the man, or woman, with overly fragrant earlobes.
    0hyh.jpg

    Darius Remix (G.S.M. CD)
Awesome remixes from Darius and Darius II. Exciting stuff that will make anyone who loves the Darius games just, well, soil themselves.
    0ere.jpg

    Darius Burst OST (G.S.M. CD)
This original score was composed and arranged by Reg Varney in 1971, just before On The Buses switched from black and white episodes (which no-one watches, except if you do happen to catch one when it's on TV, you find yourself saying to yourself (because nobody else cares) "I know what colour that table is supposed to be..." and so on...) to colour.
    0prp.jpg

Darius Burst Another Chronicle OST (G.S.M CD)
Reg Varney sadly passed away by the time this was released. Instead, arrangement duties were handed to Alan Davies (who at the time was filming back to back episodes of Jonathan Creek and QI XL).

A scintillating, exhilarating score make no mistake. Essential in any collection considering the pressure Alan Davies was under to have this finished prior to launch.
    0ono.jpg

WARNING!! Darius Burst EX Body Sonic (日本のパルプ)
This is the book, or rather, graphic novel, that was released alongside Darius Odyssey recently. It looks surprisingly good, and is rather thick!

Seriously man, I did not know so many gaming OSTs existed. It's really mind boggling, you must have a colossal library of them now.

Where'd you get the Raiden set from? Would love one myself :)

It's getting there. This is the majority of my collection, though a lot of stuff is missing as some OST's come with Superplay DVD's, VHS tapes and Laserdiscs (example being a 1993 Konami live concert Laserdisc in my collection).

    http://vgmdb.net/db/collection.php?do=view&userid=13361

The Raiden OST you can pick up pretty much anywhere, the price is more or less the same, just depends if you want to run the risk of customs taxing it (books are fine as they are not taxable). Amazon has the Raiden CD at a sensible price. :)

This chap arrived from Tototek this morning, PSX to MD adapter, works perfectly. Feels so much better using the Namco over the stock joypad, although now I have no excuse at being crap at MD shmups! :pac:

Namco and modded MD are a perfect match (thanks mod king!):

Wow, will have to get me one of those. (and a Namco stick to go with!)

Speaking of MD shoot em ups, have you played V-V? (Or Grind Stormer as it's known as in the US)

It's one of Toaplan's last shmups and is bloody brilliant. I've only gotten into it recently.

Folks say Batsugun is the grandaddy of Manic shooters, but V-V really feels like they were hitting on the whole sub genre at that stage.

Just to note, it's a very tough game. Grind Stormer was made easier for the west with bombs etc. The original V-V Japanese version ported from the arcade game uses a Gradius type system.

I got a little something today for Kerbdogs upcoming birthday, I can't say what it is as he lurks about these parts but am happy that if its not working he has the skills to fix it.

I'm waiting on one of those adaptors for a couple of weeks. Gotta desolder my Namco stick to get the spilt orange outta there so I might as well go the whole hog put arcade parts in. Where should I buy a soldering iron from?

Put on Grind Stormer there for a few mins and it was only ok, visuals a bit duff and a fair whack of slow down. Will see if I can get my hands on V-V though. Truxton is fairly good on the MD, shame the sequel didn't get an MD port. Never played Thunderforce III so will give that a lash. Loving using the Namco though, was well worth getting that adapter imo.
