PayPal Dundalk now recruiting

Last week I heard of a few people getting calls from paypal, telephone interviews, so I sent in my cv (probably too late!)

I've noticed a few threads on this, but does anyone know how Paypal go about recruiting? I'd hate to think I just missed the boat redface.gif

Most of the jobs advertised on jobs.ie require a language, that's why I didn't apply, but I don't think the people I know, who got called, speak another language. They had Vodafone experience though.

Anyone out there got more than the first stage telephone interview?
Do you think they will continue looking over new cvs received for the jobs that don't require a language, or is that phase of their hiring over?

it would be my advice, if you are looking into jobs such as these, a second language is ESSENTIAL to get called. you should look into doing one and note on your CV that you are taking lessons. it will show that you are serious about the job.

I send my cv in bout two months ago and I don;t have another language. I had phone interview today so they will get back to be in few weeks. I say send in your cv anyways, no harm as there recruiting loads so they prob be doing few different stages. I don;t have call centre experience just lots customer service from working in retail.

I sent my cv in a while ago, again no language.
They called me two weeks ago and left a voice mail, I've tried numerous times calling back both the number in the message and the number that called, left loads of messages but they never tried calling back.

I had miss call on monday and they got back to me today. She said she was ringing people last week and this so she will prob and try ringing you again.

I too have heard that the vast majority of those jobs will go to those with fluency in a second language.

TBH if they are that hard to deal with before you even have a job, I'm actually not pushed on working for them at this stage.

(yes I know there's a recession and jobs are hard to find etc)

I applied about 3 weeks ago and have a degree in a 2nd language and 3 years customer service experience.

Haven't heard thing from them. Also applied for Blanchardstown jobs.

I recieved a call from them last thursday for a phone interview. On monday I got a message that they tried to call me 5 times and they left a voicemail. I tried returning their call a few times but only can leave a voicemail. I was worrying that I missed out because I missed their call but seeing as some people still got the phone call after missing a few means there is hope :)

EDIT: Just got another call from them regarding another phone interview. They must just be so flat out with over 4000 applicants so thats why the delay

I had a phone interview last Sunday week (30/4/12), I've no second language but they need just one language speakers aswel. At the end I asked what the next stage of the process was and I was told that they are filtering the applications and that we'll be hearing from a recruitment agency next. So if anyone gets a call from a recruitment agency can you let us know.

I've had 2 telephone interviews from them, the last one only on friday 4th. I also do not have a second language but have lots of experience in customer service & admin.

I did the telephone interview for PayPal last week. The questions they asked where the usual generic questions they would ask first at a face to face interview...I'm not happy with how it went at all, feel like i could of done much better! I was only on the phone for 5 mins which was supposed to be a 10min interview.

They said they will be in touch within the next few weeks, but i'm not getting my hope's up.
If anyone gets a call for the second stage, please let us know :)

    Good luck to you all.

While their customer service departments are very tough work, they do concentrate on development and upskilling people so you can build a nice career there. They do hire people with only English such as myself.

A friend of mine lives close to PayPal campus in Dundalk. He said that he sees many people going in and out to PayPal for interviews. If anyone knows anything further if interviews have started please share it. Good luck to everyone.

In response to above post, I don't think they have started interviews yet. I have just put the phone down from paypal who I have had 2 telephone interviews with already. They were just ringing to confirm that I did a phone interview and that they would be in contact a the next few weeks to confirm a face to face interview! I am so scared as I haven't done an interview in about 8 years, and don't know how to sell myself... Oh well I am sure that it will be ok

I had a first interview over a month ago and they called me today about the second interview for tomorrow. I Spoke to Joanna? and she said it is going to be a language capabilities interview in 2 languages (Polish & English). I'll write a post after the interview 2morrow.... tension is up!

witchywoman139 I don't think the interview will be over tomorrow. I did some diggin and they normally do 2 phone interviews and one face-to-face chit chat.. I am a bit stressed as I've never worked in my native language but will let u know how it all went! the interview is at 11 and 11.30am - 15 min for each language..

    Hi guys, I'm new!
I'm Italian and I'm interested in working for Paypal in Dundalk!
Can you please tell me how can I apply for this job?

Any of you have been selected? Any ideas about the salary? Do they require particular languages or just English mother tongue?
Do they do the interview by media or they need also to see you? For the previous job I had in Belfast I did all the tests and interviews through phone and skype.

Sorry for all the question but I'm very desperate at the moment cause now in Italy there are no jobs opportunities and I don't want to waste my degree doing nothing...
I really hope someone can help me :)

    Thank you so much!

I had the aptitude-test this week.
3 languages (English, Swedish and Norwegian) all in one go, more or less.
Not sure if i'll get contacted again, but i'm keeping my hopes up.

And i have about 10 years experience.

I'm tired of being unemployed. :(

I had 2 calls from PayPal 3 weeks ago. One was in English, another in Russian. They said they would be back in contact with me within the next 2 weeks. Unfortunately it never happened... Does it mean that they are no longer interested? I am a native Russian speaker.

Hi, there. Has anyone recently got a job offer from Paypal or are they still conducting screening phone and personal interviews?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15 dott

I don't think they are done with the interviews yet. As far as I'm aware they are taking people in mid of July so they still got time...
