Is this woman dense?? In one breath she's saying means test it and in the next breath she is saying some women have very tight rich husbands and they still need it.

    So how would that work??

Not one penny of it should be given in cash. It should be given in books and food vouchers.. It's not the parents to spend, its meant to be for the child...

And to the woman who's husband tight.... Front up to your husband and get money from him, not the state.. It isnt the shrinking violet's allowance.

Surely the State giving preference payment of child benefit to a female is discrimination against the male? Why does Damien not point that out?

Nobody will ever have a chance of winning an argument with this one.

The concept of reasoning is completely alien to her.

She's right and thats all there is to it.

    Whether she's right or not.

I think a joint limit of income up to €100k per household for 2 kids and then another €10k addition per child would be fair.
