HI folks ,sorry if this is the wrong thread , the weather is really depressing at the mo, so cold ! Is there there any hope at all for this month ? and the rest of summer :(

Yea, a different thread, perhaps make a new post under chat and your heading. The Cherry blossoms, which should be blooming and coming into their flush [in Cork] and giving a two to three week display in May ~ never flushed this year and threw a few weak blooms and disappeared without the usual carpet of petals.

    So, they say no summer.

Mods, please move my post too. Thanks.

Cherry blossoms in May! They always arrive in April here in Dublin :)

    Whatever the weather.

my cherry blossoms bloomed in April in Dublin too, only for a short while though , like a week , but I find they only ever bloom for a short time , even if we did have a good summer ahead in recent years .

Tropical North Queensland (Outback not coastal)

    Temp 19.2c
    Dew Point 9.8c
    Humidity 54%
    North Wind @ 5kmph
    Pressure is 1017.9hPa

Sunshine Sunshine Sunshine, hit 31c today. Wet season is officially over however coastal areas are still getting frequent rain and the top end around Darwin has a tropical low bringing showers (top end refers to the area of the Northern Territory around Darwin to maybe 400/500km south and far North Queensland i.e Weipa Peninsula). The humidity in these parts is gone. We had one day when a late season shower hit last week but it is looking like thats the end of the rain. The place is very green & the red earth and rocky hills are spectacular. When I arrived just prior to the wet season there was not a single green leaf around. Everything was red, dried out and dead.

Gets cold in the mornings here, 7/8c sometimes but usually between 10-15c.
Average for May here is 27c daytime and 14c nighttime + Low humidity. Funny seeing people put the heating on when its 18c out but after being in the tropics nearly a year 18c is chilly unless your in the sunshine.

Great late Autumn/Early winter weather ;)

That station of yours is obviously not up to the extreme Ashford weather.

10c here, bit of drippy rain, 2.8mm since midnight. No pressure on the station atall atall - batteries fully charged but nothing of interest to record :(

    Lashing in Stillorgan? That's close!

    MetE:

"Rain then spreads across the country during Sunday night. For Leinster and Munster, Monday will start off wet but the rain will clear during the morning. Then it will brighten up and turn showery everywhere through Monday afternoon. And the weather will remain showery right up until Thursday; bright and sunny for the morning time, heavy showers during the afternoons. It will be more typical of April rather than May"

Even MetEireanns normally dispassionate forecast is taking on that weary tone. There'd better be a scorcher in the pipeline....

Currently in Dun Laoghaire its misty and dank with drizzle/light rain, winds NNE light to calm 1-2kts, Temp 9.8C........yawn

Actually now that I notice it - its 1kt, 10C, 100% rh and 1000 hPa
