Time for an electrics priority fail later this evening methinks :pac:

Only if it involves you taking out the engine. :p

I have their reversing light bulbs (used as parking lights in the 8 series) and I found them a little too blue and sadly actually dimmer than regular yellow little halogens.

I left them in as they still kinda look cool (I use them as DRLs). Do you think they look white or a little blue, like 7k temp?

Second round interview in an hour.

To quote a great man "I'm not normally a praying man, but if you're up there.......help me Superman!"

    Best of luck! :)

Is it orange with a big Porsche-like spoiler? If so then I saw it around Dublin yesterday.

1970s brown (or 2012 hot chocolate) if I recall. Seems like very few were made.

Saw one of my favourite Local cars this morning, a e39 525i in sepang bronze, its immaculate and possibly my favourite colour on the e39.Don't suppose anyone knows the owner, he's from the lough/ucc area.

You're in Meath right? I'm sure the motor factors in Trim or Navan would have them. Both towns seem to be flooded with yellow lighted bangers.

Nope have tried. Have yellow H1s and H4s.... Got those in Manilla :pac:

They look pretty darn white to me. I went specifically for those 4,350K ones as apparently that's as close to natural white as you can get.

    And thanks :D

What's the vision like with them? Are they just regular halogen bulbs?

Went down as far as Kinsale yesterday, bloody gorgeous down there.

The Jag wouldn't knock a stir out of you, couldn't get accurate mpg as I forgot to set the second trip, but the average combined went from 39.8 up for 47.5 from the tank so far.

Decent roads down around there, really wants me to spend a few bob on a classic.

Does anyone know anyone who'll insure a young lad on a classic policy? I'd have three crackers in the shed I could make use of if I had the poxy insurance.

Don't you have to be over 25 or so to get insured on a classic? THere's also limited milage on them too.

I'm in the same boat, the 525 is crying out for road use again... Much more reliable electrics in it than the French car too :)

Might give these a go! Lads he charges seven pounds delivery to Eire and one fiddy to the UK. I'm gonna give this to Parcel motel me thinks and see how it goes. Only 3.50 to use which is a small saving but something at least.

the buld required is main headlight, ~H7 bulb.

would like them to be brilliant white (without using vanish) as opposed the the dull yellow standard bulbs.

anyone know where to get them in dublin or louth >?

    cheers.

Did you touch the glass of the bulb putting it in by any chance?

Halfords do that sorry of thing, their bulbs re dear enough though. Got osram night breakers in my local motor factors for €20

They're buy one get one free atm!

no I didn't touch the glass on them, I osram just don't last long at all. not that great tbh.

want to try avoiding ordering online, need them sorted today or working could be a hassle. maybe a motor factors or halfrauds have a good set of brilliant white h7's ?

Campion insurance are the guys I am with, 125e for the year for 3rd party. Never asked for mileage or my age. Really friendly to deal with and don't have any hidden charges like some companies.

Just rang them, 25 is the minimum.

Maybe it's 25 to get vintage insurance (ie. as a second policy) and you can insure a vintage car at any age for a 1st policy.

I just ordered 3 sets (lots of lights on the E31) and he combined postage for me, £7 for the lot.

Worked it out there. You'd save about the price of a pint. Worth baring in mind for bigger stuff I suppose.

I presume you need projectors to use super bright bulbs like these? My car doesn't have projectors and I don't want to blind people

Ridiculous money for a bulb, regardless of the BOGOF offer.

looking at other prices that were there on the shelf I'd say this was the cheap option

well **** me sideways!!! I decided to give my car a quick wash. I did gave it a wee bit of a scrub with shampoo, but not too hard to scrub off the polish. then ofc i remembered that i am cheap **** who decided not to invest in to few drying cloth, which were on sale too. ( what a fecking muppet i am ). So when car started to dry it all went in to water marks and it looked even worse, then when i introduced my car to the whole "wash me" situation!!!
So hey, time to open that polishing stuff i bough a month ago and never used! so gave it a fast polish just to take those water marks off!

i dont know if you can see how bad it was. i got bonned done and scoop not even touched.
