    Wed 15th August - Popes Cross @ 7pm

    Sun 2nd September - Cherrywood from 11am

How about that - should satisfy everyone in the region?

I should be able to make the 2nd for a bit. And hopefully my shoulder will have healed enough to give the Passat a decent wash. If not, apologies for it.

Cherrywood would be okay for me...although I may not be driving

I might go to the other one if I'm not doing anything, and I'll be driving

Coolio - need Mod approval first.

    TT / Colm - you're both online - what do y'all think?

Can't see why it'd be a problem, been a while since something was organised. And they've both been posting away in the chat about it :)

Sunday 2nd will be the normal octane meet, so lots of tasty cars to drool over.

Does that mean match called off / protruding calf nuts?

Think very carefully about your answer - it could well affect the rest of your [boards.ie] life. :p

OK, I don't often have a rant in here but I think I might do now:

I spent over 2 hours yesterday showing a potential buyer my car. I answered a lot of questions in depth, he spent a lot of time looking around the car, driving it (used quite a bit of petrol), listening to the engine, opening windows and asking more questions.

Today he tells me he's not interested because he doesn't want a car that powerful

I have absolutely no problem showing people a car but taking that long without being even 50% sure that you'll be buying the car is taking the piss. Proper thing to do is view it, take it for a spin, check documents, all done within maybe half an hour. Then if you are surer ask for a longer meeting down the line.

No wonder people are slow to spend much time selling a car.

    /rant

Is it back to standard or still running the re map you mentiodd before? just wondering, many folks would run a mile with that set up I would think.

I never actually had a map on it which increased the power and torque, only a "base" map from where to start. The only thing this did was get rid of torque limiters in 1st and 2nd gear and had the turbo pulling further. Once I saw that I was getting the knock and couldn't do much about it without using high octane fuel, I gave up.

I still have the program on the ECU in order so that I can read and clear any error codes using the laptop. It's got the OEM map on it and I won't be doing anything to it again with regards mapping.

TL;DR - It's back to standard but the software is still on the ECU to read and clear any error codes that might pop up.

Tell me about it! That kind of carry on would make you lose faith in humanity very quickly.

lads. i am in a wee bit sticky situation here.

i am about to order 15x8 wheels for my mazda and fella on email told me that i iwll have to have arches pulled for them... which i dont really think should be a problem...

i know in UK they dont pass cars if wheels are out of arches even a bit. how bad is it here in ireland?
I dont really know a good place where they would pull arches and do a good job.
i dont really want to go for 15x7 wheels as i really wanted some dip dish stretch wheels for my mazda.
