Renting Dwarfs

I've heard of a few people renting out dwarfs for Stag partys and that sort of thing.
I might do it myself for a Stag.
Do people see it as unethical or just as a bit of fun?
I suppose it's similar to prostitution in that these dwarfs are selling themselves.
Anyone ever rented a dwarf? What was your experience?

I think it's sick and demeaning to dwarfs. The extreme end of that attitude is this:

a dwarf was partially-paralyzed after being picked up and thrown by a group of drunk rugby players. He got a bit of attention when the awesome Peter Dinklage mentioned him when accepting his Golden Globe for best supporting actor for Game of Thrones.

What the hell would you want to hire a dwarf for anyway?

did this thing called Leprechaun curling in New Zealand a few years ago. He lay on his stomach with his hands and legs behind his back and you had to slide the guy down an oiled up bowling lane type of thing and get his belly button closest to the target. It's hard to aim him right but was good fun, think they still do it.

And I think it's sad that they do that, but I guess it's harder for them to find work, and lots of dwarfs (I prefer the Tolkienesque spelling) don't have many other options.

I still don't see why people would pay a dwarf they don't know to come to their party.

My brother told me his mates did it for a stag, and the Dwarf was petulant, argumentative demanded free drink all night grabbing girls arses ect and cherry on top, was well known to bouncers and they couldn't get in anywhere with him.

I also have a bit of a problem with the idea but hey, they make a living sure and no one forcing them to do it.

I think it demeans the people who rent them out as well.

It's a big whole demeaning mess. I'd have more sympathy for the dwarfs than people who rent other people for a laugh.

I worked with one years ago, he was a fierce nice fellow.
We (a few of us) used to lift him up by his belt and carry him around the place, with his legs air-walking and a stream of profanities turning the air blue.
It was "only a bit of a laugh", but looking back now it was a shi*ty thing to do to the guy.
Anyway, one night I was out in a club standing chatting to a girl, things were going well when suddenly I felt an excruciating pain in my bollocks and looked down and saw the evil little feicer smiling up at me with a death like grip on my crotch, all the while him and my buddies pissing themselves laughing. He was saying "who's the boss now!!!".
My reaction was to start beating him across the side of the head telling him to let go of my nutsack.
Needless to say the girl I was chatting to didn't think this was normal / appropriate and promptly left.
The bouncers came over and didn't quite know what to do, my response was something along the lines of "it's okay we know each other". WTF?

It has to have been on of the strangest events I've ever been involved in.
My friends thought it was the best thing they had seen in an age.

So no, don't mess with them, they'll sneak up and grab your nads.**

Saw one done up as an Oompah Loompah with a stag group in Galway last year (I wasn't part). The little pr1ck kept grabbing my girlfriend's bum and not even pretending not to, I warned him three times, after third time I got the bouncer who was only too willing to kick him and the stags out. The group themselves seemed to be quiet at the time, maybe only starting out on their do. Either that or they had started to try to ignore him...

I've heard of it and it sounds funny. I can just imagine the look on the stags head.

That being said, I honestly don't know if I could bring myself to hire one.

I think its an amusing idea. However, be careful while choosing which dwarf to hire out. Statistics reckon 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy

You don't "rent" a dwarf as they are not property, you employ one to put up with your ****e for the night and die a little inside while they do it.

On the day of my brothers wedding I was bringing him to get a hot towel shave. On the way to the barbers, a woman walked past, handcuffed to an oompa loompa. I told him I'd heard about this before, that they can be hired to handcuff themselves to someone for 24 hours, so we followed wondering where they'd go.
She walked into a gym! I wish I could've gone in there to see what she could possibly do in a gym with an oompa loompa handcuffed to her.

It seems to me the reason is so people can laugh at them.

I also don't think the fact that the dwarfs are willing to go along with it makes it acceptable.
Homeless people will accept money from morons who want to film them fighting and harming themselves, but that doesn't make the morons right to do so.
