Any sign of convection really fading away in Galway with any showers within my horizon reallly dissipating rapidly. I'd rather drizzle than this. Congrats to those who have and will hear thunder today.

Another very impressive cumulonimbus moving across the sky to my south west.

Nothing here yet; temp maxed at 14.1c about an hour ago. I see a lot of shower activity over north city.

On the edge of it. Big enough hail. No lightning or thunder so far.

I think the strikes he's referring too would probably be a bit South-East of you, look to be just off the coast near Guileen/Roches Point

Yeah, my girlfriend is in Cobh taking some photos for the Titanic thing there, so maybe she'll get some nice shots!. The view from my balcony is west facing, so getting a good view to the south east is a bit awkward.
Managed to have a look anyway but doesn't seem particularly noteworthy... may have to go for a cycle out of the city a bit to get a decent view...

Would it be worthwhile this late in the afternoon though?

Game over now from the looks of the radar folks, the heat is dying off now.

    Ah well... onto tomorrow :)

I'd say not, but if one were passing it might be an option.

Yep. temp back to 9.5c here after a shower!

It was 0.8mm lasting 20 minutes, no hail, thunder, wind or, frankly, anything of interest. A very boring mundane kinda shower.

Surely there could still be some forming over the sea? (Though I'm f***** if I'm going back to the coast to watch them :))

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,068 ✭✭✭Iancar29

Heres the cell that was over Swords which produced one rumble about 15mins later , didnt hear it from here though :(

We had a decent hail shower mid afternoon otherwise warm sunshine and heavy showers. No thunder or lightning here. Some really great cloudscapes again today. The last few days have been the most interesting weather wise in a long time. Bring on tomorrow ;)

Taken from north Kilkenny looking towards Carlow. Maybe the one that produced the thunder earlier?
