For any of you that know the whereabouts of a Euro50store, you may be interested in something I stumbled across with amazement in a trip there last week. I wandered into the store looking for a dog lead and a few bits of cheap D.I.Y tools when I saw this in their gardening isle. They are meant for a garden pond but they would be the exact same as normal decoys. They have a weight bar too like the real deal. €1.50 each
    I bought a dozen :P

I went in there just now. Dealz is the name there. Have none and said they never had them

had to make a run to Dublin today so never got in. however the sister was in this morning and said she couldn't find any. fiestaman has answered it though. They seem to never have gotten any in.

Ah well. Roll on the ads in for sale section for seriously reduced decoys at a bargain price of €5 each.:D

Went in to my local store today and they have loads of them(both ducks and drakes).
But they are only about 2/3rds the size of a normal decoy.

Not sure if they would be any good but I'm sure somebody here will be able to advise.

They're smaller because they are actually teal decoys painted like mallards. I got the girlfriend to pick eight up for me this morning and as Vizzy says they are 2/3 the size of a mallard. But you can see the eye stripe and the spots on the chest molded in the platic so they were obviously meant to be teal decoys. I put it beside one of my teal decoys for comparison. I reckon I will get the paint out, cause for a euro fifty a teal decoy you can't go wrong!!

How will you get the paint off mallards?

Just paint over it I reckon. I will put a primer on it and then find some suitable paint for plastic. It will be no work of art but it will do the job!!

I've painted / touched pigeon & duck decoys with acyrilic paints in the past....not very shiney......very fast drying & will easily last the season. Does not need a primer...will go straight onto plastic decoys.

Can seem shiney at first but leave out in the air for a day or two and it 'dies' down quickly.

I always do the white bars on the pigeon decoys necks and wings before decoying season starts.....really attracts the 'woodies' in.........spot it miles away.
