    Pros
A moderator will reduce felt recoil, reduce muzzle flip, quieten the shot at the shooter position.

    Cons
Adds weight to the rifle, Depending on mod can lengthen the rifle, changes point of impact (easily fixed with adjustment of the scope), and if not already on your license in the form of an "S" will cost another €80 as its classed as a firearm.

Its simple enough. Do you think you could benefit from a mod? If so then look into one. If not then do not worry about what others say you "must" have.

I don't have one on my .270 but if i had a spare 300 odd quid i'd definatly have an A tec on it.
The .270 is a great round ,but can be a little noisy and and a little jumpy:D.

Its a loud bang alright, but how many shots are you going to fire at a time? 1 or 2?

Get one and don't damage your hearing, once damage is done it's done.

Personally I don't like them. I'd wear hearing protection as often as possible, and if you get a chance while stalking, great, but to my mind it absolutely ruins the handling of light, nimble guns. On the other hand, if it's a heavy rifle for shooting prone, then handling doesn't count for much.

    I have a .270 in a Tikka T3 Lite.

For my rifle an A-Tec aluminium moderator was the ideal choice.
Its light and reduces the noise a great deal.

All moderators do NOT ruin the handling of a light nimble gun as mentioned previously, but if I were to put a T8 moderator on the muzzle of my rifle then THAT would definitely affect the handling of the rifle as the muzzle of the barrel would be too weighty and the balance of weight would be lost.

I find the A-Tec moderator a great addition to the my .270

You only get one pair of years, hidden hearing is more expensive than a moderator.
