    Hi all!
Looking for some help? Have decided I want to go to Australia or New Zealand not too fussy, but don’t want to go alone. I am girl and 23 years old anyone thinking of travelling would love to hear from you!! Would be planning September to leave but would leave before this if I can’t get a summer job as I am just finishing college.

Hey I'm 25 in May heading to Oz on Aug 15th. Going alone myself! Meeting up with friends in Adelaide first and then after finding my feet heading to Melbourne! First thing you need to do is stop thinking about it and doing it :) head onto the immi.org.au website for your visa it's your cheapest option €217 to apply and very fast! Don't bother with any companies offering bank accounts and sims etc they charge so much and it's easy to do yourself online or when you arrive there! If you need any other info let me know! But to start get your visa sorted! Best of luck!

    Hiya!
For a visa I was thinking about usit but they charge way too much so Im hoping to get it directly from the immi.org.au website that you mentioned. Just wondering how long did it take for the visa application online?

I submitted at 12.57 and it was approved at 13.17 it's ridiculously fast!!
USIT are literally robbing you! You can apply for your Tax file number and bank account online before you go and buy a sim when you land! It's all for free why pay USIT €200 to do this for no reason! Put that money towards your insurance or shopping in the airport :D

+ They'll make you purchase your flights & insurance through them at an inflated price. In my experience they're an awful crowd to deal with!

Thank you so much for the advise, I didnt realise you could apply for you're own tax file number and back account! I was shocked to hear usit were going to charge me another €100 euro onto their visa cost because I didnt book flights with them! Bunch of cowboys! Thanks again for the help... Im definitely going to take that saved €200 and go shopping in Thailand! :-)

No problem! It's handy to have the info! I looked through everything before going the way I did! It's saving me a fortune! Better again I have mates living in Adelaide. They're posting me over a sim and bank card before I arrive because if you know someone over there you can apply online for everything and they'll post it to your address!! So if you know people over there I'd suggest that too! I want to land over there in August completely stress free and able to ring my family who are freaked at me travelling all that way Hans solo!! lol

    Exactly!!
I wouldn't deal with any student chain that provide "cheap flights etc for students" STA in England were the same I lived there for 6 months and was just window shopping out of interest and they were worse!!

I too am going it alone, going to Melbourne in June. A friend is coming out 5 weeks later, but she is over for erasmus, and I will be moving on around September to get my regional work out of the way and to get to see more of Australia!

21 and alone as well, make your own plans but perhaps our paths shall cross!

Hey doll I am thinking of heading in Oct if that is any good to ya, like you except I am 28 and headin on my own with no real plans!

Hi - Im am also toying with the idea of going to oz. I would be going on my own too. I do have a close friend over there but I would like to try and make it on my own and meet new people and stuff. Im also 28, sometimes I feel am I mad thinking about going now, but I feel like soon I will be too old to go and dont want to have any regrets. My parents are not entirely supportive of the idea, they dont even know that I am still considering it. I went to Sydney In December for a month and fell in love with the place - I would love to go back.

Keep me posted of your plans - Id love to hear other peoples ideas especially yours as we are the same age!

Hey female 22 hopin to go to oz in SepT/oct time goin on my own have a few friends in Perth so might head over there but would be great to meet different people headin over x

Hi girls, I agree with greenbicycle! The thought of going on your own is much worse than actually doing it! I flew over to Oz on my own, I was a little nervous coming up to the time but the journey over on my own was actually grand. I knew a few people here to stay with but TBH the people Ive met since I came over I probably see more of and socialise more. You definitely meet way more people on your own and you will be surprised the amount of people you find travelling here alone! So def do not worry you will be grand.
I am living in Sydney now, if you are coming here I am happy to offer any advice help you need as I know what it's like getting set up etc! Good luck!

Hi girls, I'm male 23 and I'm heading to Perth on my own. I do have two friends in Perth who can help with setting me up over there, accomodation, job, etc. I'm planning on going in a month/ two months but have nothing booked yet.

I was just wondering how much you plan on bringing after flights and visas are paid for. I think I will only be able to get €2,000 and I'm just wondering if this is enough or are you guys bringing alot more?

I would bring at east 4000 euro with you coming to perth. its a very expensive city. You might not get a job straight away but you might be lucky and get one withing two weeks but just in case you dont you will need around the 4000 mark.

Hey I'm 28 as well and flying over to Sydney on 16th August - going Dublin to Abu Dhabi then straight to Sydney if any1 is on that flight let us know - dreading flying on my own :). I'm gonna be staying with a friend and her bf when I get there for a while but hoping I land a job pretty soon and can then go and rent somewhere... wanna head to Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne as well during my time there.. Also dreading doing the 3 mths regional work by myself as well as all the ppl I know over there have already done it :(

I booked a return flight just in case but can always change the dates if I decide to stay the 2nd year!

But like every1 else I'm scared and nervous about going but I'm sure once I settle in and make friends I'll love it!!!!!!!!!
