Because amazingly when you show up at 7.30 with only 6 or 7 guys in front of you the timesheet has the first 7 or 8 4ball slots gone. Guys putting down 2 or 3 lines for their mates etc. When we operated the pen and paper system if you showed up at 7.30 all the slots were gone for the next week until 8.30 which kept pushing you out later and later. It got to the stage that one of the fourball had to take turns in showing up at least 1 hour before our tee time to make sure we got a similar time slot the following week.

    Bye Bye to that system

Badly policed by the sounds of it so.

Can barely afford ground staff in this day and age let alone police to watch guys filling out a timesheet ;)

Technology is the new police. Fair to all.

The online booking is open to widespread abuse, its become a joke in my club especially during the winter months with limited daylight.
The same people are block booking times weks in advance and come the night before and that day itself they are removing their names .

I often counted 45-50 names removed on a Saturday or Sunday, leaving the timesheet a mess especially for fourballs where people turn up to find out they have no partner or in some cases nobody to even play with.

It would be very easy to write a script to monitor people who repeatedly withdraw their names at short notice (less than 24 hours) and give them a 1 month ban if they continually abuse the system.

A little nit picky, but it is the application of the online booking that is open to abuse rather than the online system itself.

Anyway, you have several easier options than getting BRS to write a script :
    - close online bookings 24 or 48 or whatever hours before a competition. People can still book but cannot cancel bookings. It is up to the club to then sanction the no-shows.
    - BRS keeps a full log of all transactions. So an administrator can run through the full time sheet and see those members who removed thir names in whatever period before the comp that you chose - and again, sanction them.

You can suspend a BRS account so that members cannot make bookings.
