    You pay the first 4000 euros of any claim, either to your own car or to someone you hit or if your car is stolen, ie if your car is worth 4k and its stolen you pay the first 4 k of the claim and therefore get nothing. Basically if you dont claim its all good, if you do well youl have to pay first before they do.
    My brother is with them and has a 2000 excess but hes happy with his quote so feels the gamble is worth it.
    You can pay more to get the 2k excess listed above.

    Thanks, thats really helpful I finally understand this "excess". I didnt really understand all this insurance talk!!
    Britton are the cheapest quote I can get.
