were quite dear in skibb today, so some price increase would be needed.

I think processors will pay extra for cattle this week on the provisio to keep cattle kill up near 30K. Are they closed Friday I presume so. Long weekend will allow them to stack cattle next week and week after. Then two week to May bank holiday week end. Priocessor thrive on long weekends as it allows them to back up cattle

just wondering does anyone know what the projected weekly kills are based on animals in the "system". A lot of talk about about cattle being scarce later in the year. Have a couple of batches of bulls for finishing last batch should be out the gate before end of october and wondering should i project for a price similar to what we're at now, a bit of an improvement or (god forbid the factories should pull the price)a lower base??

I be gauging on the base being as strong or stronger than present. However I be slow to have any bulls left after mid September. Windows for bulls generally Mid December to late January and May/June and August/early September.

Got 4.18 base today for a load of steers... pushed and pushed for 4.20 but could not get it.

Would everyone here always go with the best price.

Ive gotten a couple of roastings from factories that ive gone to for a few cents more.

Been disapointed with weights and grades ect. And ended up worse overall.

Usually go to the local factory now where i know the weights and grading will be fair.

Yea always do, at least it sound good to accept the best quote, but yea, the gradeing system is a gamble, god knows what trickery is in it. Maybe the full time beef men can catch or fight bad grades, the smaller men not so much. A lot depends on the agent tho, I got a readjustment of 50 euro on a beast, due to adjusted grades other than was agreed, but that be's rare. So yea, I accept the top quote and hope for the best.

No there is certain factory's I am slow to go to because of Trim. Other issue is if travelling a distance and cattle will be on a truck for a few hours I would be allowing for weight loss as well as extra transport costs. As one factory is quite close to me (less than 20 miles) I have it costed than most other factory's have to give me at least 10c/kg extra to breal even on weight loss and transport.

Only in one of the 3 factories near me do I get 61% KO, no I'm not saying which one it is.

What is the average kill out for br/fr cows youngish 5-6 years old I only averaged 45/46% they who travelled 5 hours
