I never really understood the weak U.S. laws on seat belt usage, and it doesn't help that some people never use seat-belts in taxi's even though they otherwise would.
An italian colleague of mine is bad for not wearing a belt either but I won't move off without her putting it on.

Especially the clips where one passenger is wearing a seat belt and the other isn't...only for the unrestrained person to fly head first into those with belts.

The one with the child was the worst I think, imagine how you'd feel knowing you nearly crushed your own child because you didn't bother to belt up!
