I was reading today that Kodak have filed for bankruptcy. I was very surprised as it's a giant of a company that even managed to coin a phrase, "a Kodak moment"

    It got me thinking about what other brands are no longer with us;

The Our Price chain of record stores.
AIWA. Once a very popular Hi-Fi and Walkman clone maker.
    and Radion Washing Powder! :D

    Any others?

    Vanilla Coke
    Coca Cola with lime
Last time I saw either of them was about six years ago :(

In mid nineties Chicago Bulls were the biggest sports brand around, bigger then Man Utd, NY Yankees and San Francisco forty niners.
Loads of Irish people with Bulls caps, have seen one this decade or the decade before.

LA Gear runners. Because they were ****e, extremely expensive and fell apart within weeks

Can you still buy Doc Martins?

Nor in the UK, because of a lousy reputation.

Tiffin bars are still in my local corner shop. And I'm fairly sure they're not left over from 1984 stock...

Strangely enough, it was both. I didn't remember it was ice cream too, but when I looked on youtube I only found ice cream ads, and I do remember the song from this one.

The pizza (which I think was made by Bird's Eye: not sure how the licensing of the name worked out between them and HB) doesn't seem to be as well-remembered.

heard on the radio this morning that some department in kodak came up with the first digital camera in 1992, but it was shot down at a meeting because they thought people would always want to hold photos. what a missed opportunity.

    Buitoni pasta.

They used to be everywhere, and the brand sponsored stuff like film festivals etc, but suddenly one day they were gone.

    Disappeared.
